honestly, he could have ditched them both. one doesn't fit and one just lays there and they create a dead spot toward the end of the album. I'm sure he's got something sitting around that would have been more appropriate than these two.

100 % agreed. it's hard to think he wouldn't have something else knocking about to put on the

album instead of these two weirdly out of place and sincerely boring tracks.

walk in sand is not as bad as this one but it totally doesn't fit the rest of the songs. soundwise,

this track does fit the album better but it's so boring and such a snooze fest as i've hardly ever

heard from prince before.

these two tracks, followed by the (still) very odd and not so cool "everybody loves me" and the

hidden "lay down" as track 77 (another track that doesn't fit the rest of the album at all) makes

the album, which starts out healthy and great enough, collapse completely in the second half,

and basically makes the whole thing feel like a good EP with 6 great songs, that have another 4

weak bsides or outtakes tagged on at the end just to make up a 10 song disc.

Standing on it's own I like this track. But I'm not so fond of the placement. By the time this song gets going, I want to push someone overboard so they can swim to that 'passing ship' so Prince won't sound so sad. Then he can dock the boat on the beach, walk in sand, and live happily ever after
