Very nice... tight vocal and lyrics are Ok (not great) Musically tight

Nice slow jam, and better than most of ballads of the last decade

Someone has stolen Prince! And someone impersonating him made this song! Prince couldn't possibly make such boring crap and put it on a cd. Suddenly the ballads on Emancipation actually sound good after hearing this.

This is the one song that kinda bores me. It's not bad but it doesn't do anything for me. I'll give it another shot but right now, I'm not feeling it much.

Nothing really..happens in this song. IIt is listenable..but I forgot it was still on after 2 minutes...

Adequate. Not too shabby. Has an "old school doo wop" vibe, like the Chi-Lites could have done this or something.

Nice tune though... nothing great... won't make my top 25 fave Prince slow ballads... but it's fair.

Wonderful song and vocals! This one reminds me of Beautiful Strange from the Rave album. It's got that strange but gorgeous quility in the sound and mix to me. Excellent song!

Needs more layered Prince vocals! lol It's got some, but not enough. I dig this one. It's nice to hear some self doubt in a Prince love song. But it's still a pretty basic Prince love song musically. Could be on nearly any album he's ever released. But I do like it.

This is just terrible. Every listen it sounds worse. Even hearing it on stereo don't redeem it the way it did for "Act of God" and "Lavaux". Definitely a major turd.

I actually think I like this one. It's simple - no denying that. But I seem to enjoy it more with each listen. It's a good "vibe" love song.

Don't get me wrong the music sounds alright but the lyrics/vocals kinda drag it out and then after it ends, it's like "hmm". lol

I kind of doze off on this album during Walk in Sand. This song doesn't really snap me out of it... I didn't realize it WASN'T part of Walk in Sand until I read my playlist again.

Doesn't make my ears bleed, but not particularly memorable as far as I care.

could be straight from the Rave cd, this is a weak ballad that lacks any real melody. Nice harps though!.

Pretty sweet track, but I hate when Prince slows down an otherwise funky album with a couple of ballads thrown in (I basically hate these ballads), especially segued back to back... Into the Light/I Will, U're Gonna C Me/Here, Walk in Sand/Sea of Everything. Prince definitely has a ballad obsession. Put Old School Company and Dance 4 Me on this album and take off two ballads.

I read a quote, I think it may have been Trent Reznor, who said if Prince has hundreds of great unreleased songs, where the hell are they? Because if this is what he thinks is better than anything in the legendary vault, then let those tapes rot, Prince.

No hard feelings.

It's like Somewhere Here On Earth did the nasty with Future Baby Mama out of wedlock, knocked her up, left her, and then she decided to keep the bastard and raise it on her own...with really nice background vocals. After all these years, this kind of Prince song is kind of necessary and I think it's well-executed here. Certainly better than On The Couch and Satisfied.

nod

& Totally agree, that it's MUCH better than ON THE COUCH & SATISFIED!!!!

I wouldn't trust Prince's opinion on his own music, to be perfectly honest.

Still, you probably have the right attitude, because those tapes are gonna rot regardless of the quality of the songs on 'em. Beats sitting around wishing he'd set 'em all free. sigh

Oooh I don't know about that. I like this song, but I REALLY like both of those. Sleep on the Couch wins a lot of battles just for being interesting and humorous lyrically. Satisfied is a retread, but I'm still not sure I like this better.... yet.
