This isn't a romantic song, it's a song for his future "soul". Like a dedication to his spirit or soul when he dies. That's how I took it anyway, and for that I applaud him! It's VERY deep!

This song is, for me, the only Prince worthy song on the album, it got emotions. This is the Prince I got to know mid eighties. Deep, sensitive, soulfull. This song is only good when listening, on headphones, like in bed, very quiet, in the car it looses it's touch. Everything is right about this song, his voice, the feeling he gives me and the music. For example, have you heard the background music from 1:45 till 1:54, makes me float away in the Universe It gives me somewhat the feeling I had with If I was your girlfriend.

I adore this song.

Wasn't too into this track at first, but it has slowly grown on me big time. The title sucks (too reminiscent of Future Baby Mama, that and I hate when people title songs "The ____ Song").

But the jam itself is pretty on point.

buff dreamy & hypnotical.. floating around in a wistful purple embrace is lush.. but why did he insert the jurrassic park/raptor sound effect 2wards the end? my dog gets all agitated & twitched at the noise

Wow, so much love for this song .... and I can't stand it at all!

I could live with him singing the verse, but the "Ooh We Ooooh .... Shalalalalaaa" totally ruins it for me. This part is kind of embarrassing.

To me this is the weakest song on the album.

I try to like it, even more after reading all the praise, but it simply doesn't do anything for me.

I really feel happy for the rest of you.

I LOVE this song. The mood of the music first reminded me of Slow Love (with less sexy lyrics, of course), but someone on this thread mentioned that it sounds like it could have been on the Batman soundtrack. I can see that also. I can honestly say that I really like every song on this album. They each seem like they channel a different Prince era. The only thing that sort of bothers me about the album is that sometimes the lyrics are not as colorful as past Prince songs. I know he is not writing sexually suggestive lyrics anymore, but I love how he used to make you wonder about/analyze what he was trying to say (Starfish & Coffee, Ballad of Dorothy Parker, Strange Relationship--clearly I am a huge Sign O' the Times fan). But let's be real, even with more basic lyrics, he is ions ahead of what is currently on the radio. That's why I'll always be loyal Prince fan.

I liked it when I first heard it, but now I'm playing it on heavy rotation.

This song sounds like it was inspired by the movie Avatar, in my opinion.

He's singing about people together singing in perfect harmony, etc. ... kind of like that "perfect" world in the movie.

This song is what Still Would Stand All Time should have been!!!!

Very few people understood that song, but here in Future Soul Song, he finally has made the message clear.

THIS!!! It took me like 5 listens to realize that this is a different kinda love song... I really had to listen to the lyrics and when he sings that part I'm like WOW. Normally I'm not really into organized religion and that kinda thing, dispite being from a pretty religious family and attending Catholic school and all, but when he sings that one part I'm like WOW dude. I may not agree with this JW thing, but clearly you are feeling SOMETHING and if it sounds like THAT then do your thing boo. Reminds me of those ladies in church getting the holy ghost. But seriously that's probably my fav part of the song...

This sounded like another sugarcoated Prince ballad to me the first time I listened, but after spinning it a few times I must admit that it's definately a quality Prince ballad. Certainly the best one on the album, possibly the best in 10 years time. Nothing new or spectacular, but a very pleasant listen nevertheless. Nice and deep sub bass on this track. Loving the background vocals on this one. Rating: 7,5/10

I thought I was the only one who felt like that! I cried when I felt like I finally understood this song...sooo beautiful! 1st verse -he's describing Heaven (where he wants to be in the future) 2nd verse - he's describing the past (which is the present)

I WISH U HEAVEN! I figured it out. That's what it sounds like.
