Wild Scenario: Prince collaborating with Drake?

Since Drake (Aubrey Graham) is Larry Graham's nephew, I could picture Drake campaigning and pestering his uncle to set up some studio time to get in the studio with Prince to make a song. What would top it would be Larry Graham and Prince both singing and playing and ironically scoring a hit. Also, to show how "serious" he would be about recording with Prince, he would cut out swearing for not that song but their entire record. He's already called out Sade for rejecting his offer, so who's to say he wouldn't do the same with Prince. Prince is so devoted to LG he just might do it out of respect.

drake runs with lil wayne who is a prince fan(i do believe) so if it would happen i can see it.i like drakes beats but not too much for his voice.he sounds like lil wayne a little too much.i don't see anything wrong with prince doing a collabo with a newer artist.i know alot of you aren't open to the newer artsts/give them a chance.think about it..someone felt that way about prince once

your right there nothing wrong with collaborating with new artist

but drake and prince just seems so awkward to me

i think drake is a talented rapper and actor and his songs are jam-able ( lol do not care for his singing) but a prince collabo doesn't shake well with me ( idk maybe it can happen ) maybe a van hunt collab??? Janelle Monae ?? but teaming with drake will give prince some exposure to the young crowd hmm

This might happen if Drake were a woman - Prince don't write hit songs for other male pop stars.

Prince working with Jimmy from Degrassi?

Just crazy enough to work.....

I actually think that Prince could do a halfway decent job writing an album for a teenage pop act (provided he lay off the JW stuff). There are a number of tracks off of Tamars Milk & Honey and Bria's Elixer that I think would sound better if they were sung by a young girl (Closer 2 my Heart and All Up Close to Me spring to mind). I know this sounds silly, but Prince should produce some type of really wholesome Justin Bieber esque act. I actually think he'd be really good at that. It would also give him a chance to release a lot of extra bubble Gum music (something he's apparently interested in again). IDK about drake though.

PS did you guys see that clip on youtube where the girl flashes Drake during a concert and he cracks...... f-ing hilarious

I still can't believe Larry Graham is Drake's uncle. lol Are people just saying that because they have the same last name, lol?

No, he really is his nephew.

About Drake:

.... Much of his musical influence comes from his family, which includes funk creator Larry Graham (Graham Central Station) who’s hit song “One In A Million” became a top 10 hit, and Mabon ‘Teenie’ Hodges who, alongside Willie Mitchell, was the soulful mastermind behind the majority of Al Green’s hits (9 Grammy Awards). Drake has worked with Cash Money Records, TVT Records, BMG, and has featured on tracks for producers Mike City, Neek Rusher, Saukrates, and Brian Cox. He’s been a guest on Soul Food, and has appeared in movies with Mekhi Phifer and Omar Epps, and received two Young Artist Awards, the Shaw Rocket Award, and a Teen Choice Awards.

Yeah, he definitely is a fad. All this hype about a guy who didn't even have a record contract, then got one, then had some single with Lil Importance Wayne and cursed his way through the Grammys like a total buffoon. When he disappears in a year, you can thank me later.

I am 20 years old (kind of in the thick of this whole Drake, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj wave of "talent"). I feel that Drake is one of the most untalented individuals I have seen in a VERY long time. I just don't get it. Like someone said earlier he tries to act/rap like Lil' Wayne WAY too much. However that's another subject for another time. Prince is one of those artist, regardless of who he is collaborating with, would make it work. Most seasoned acts do. However, I feel that it would cheapen the music a little. Drake is what is hot right now, but in a year like someone else said we will not even be hearing from this dude.

The thing about it is that everyone had a conversation like this when Ja Rule, Nelly, 50 Cent, and others were hot in their hey-day. The more mature act could make it work, but 9 times out of 10 unless it's a newer artist with substance it would just sound cheap and forced.

BTW Drake calling out Sade is insane.....is anyone else getting how disrespectful that is???? He was Jimmy on Degrassi, and the first time I ever heard about him was his "dates" with Rihanna...is this who everybody is seriously saying is taking over "the game"..........COME ON MAN!

They talk about these acts on MTV like they're ready made legends. It's rediculous. I hate these disney channel pop acts. Whats worse is when they're 2nd or 3rd releases are "Best of..." releases.

how do Seth, Tina, and Amy say it?.....

REALLY!

You live in a small world, and your view is that of an old wanker.

Drake is no more of a fad then Prince is now.

Prince has vanashied for 10 years, he could use some help from Drake and the likes. He could probably learn something from the young triple threat.

eek HEEEEEEEEEEEEELL NO.

nononononononononono. Uh uh, not happening, they will have to shoot somebody in the food to make it happen. mad I tried listening to Drake. I mean really. He doesn't rap. He doesn't sing. He just...talks.

Let Prince do something with GaGa. Let him teach Bey a thing or two and do something with her. But Drake? That would be a tragedy. Might as well bring Nicki Minaj in there too.'
