For me, I don't care about the anniversary of Purple Rain. What does it mean? 26 years is a lot time, and he's put out even better music. Prince was Prince well before that idea was ever born in his head, filmed, edited, and put in theaters.

I don't remember anyone hootin' and hollarin' about the anniversary of For You, Controversy, or 1999. (This is actually 30 years since Dirty Mind, which was actually recorded in May-June of 1980, and released in October.)
