There is NOT going to be a cd with the July issue!

For goodness sake waken up people.

A cd would have had to have been pressed somewhere (ie a factory).

News of a cd with Ebony or any publication would have been leaked LONG ago.

lets just take it for what it is, an interview with Prince and some pretty pictures.

I am not saying that there may not be news of a free cd or whatever with a future issue, but do people really think that a cd was made, pressed and distributed without ANYONE finding out?

Probably not Mikey, but there's are other ways of doing that. I remember a couple of years ago, some artists had cards with codes where you could purchase their music for download. Those cards were sold in some clothing stores or places like starbucks, where you could download the music. Why can't the same be encoded in a magazine?

The code could become available for download once you purchase the mag or there could be a separate fee to purchase the music, once you buy the mag, and it wouldn't become active to download until payment is confirmed. Anyway, I'd just be happy to have the magazine as a keepsake to add to my collection, whether there's music to be purchased or not.

"Rare"? OK, so he's not doing them that often anymore, but it's not like they're that special anyway.

"Unprecedented access"? Don't make me laugh.

This will be exactly the same kiss-ass crap as we've read before, and not a critical word will be uttered.

I know, right? But apparently, not ruling anything out means being asleep and needing to wake up. lol

I agree with you. If there's no cd, it's all well and good. Hopefully he will say something substantial about his faith/music/relationships rather than going the mysterious route again. wink

We've already heard about him going door-to-door as a JW. That's not really new or exclusive to Ebony.

Never before seen photos? Well, sure. Any new photo is unseen until someone sees it. I mean, unless they're digging into the photo albums and pulling out pictures of him on a tour bus with his band......wait. We've seen that too in The Sacrifice of Victor by Terry Gydesen.

A month ago I said if there was going to be a CD, we'd have heard about it by now. How much before hand did folks hear about Planet Earth being free in The Sunday Mail in the UK? Do you think Ebony, and whoever, would NOT promote there being a CD in the magazine to create interest, buzz, and eventual sales?????? WTF?! THINK about it people. Use your brains. You can hope for a CD, but there won't be one. Even if there was going to be a download code, or a card, it would have been promoted by now. News would have leaked, or been officially released, noting as such.

Sure it'd be great, but you're getting a magazine. Period. Will there be an announcement about an album or tour or something in it? Maybe, but even the press release about the issue doesn't even hint to that notion.

You are so right. I thought it was going 2 happen at first, then by mid-May and we hadn't heard anything, I lost hope that the cd was going 2 be included in the new magazine. I expect something from P this year (for some reason), but I don't think it will be this early.

Agreed that it will be nice to have a "Prince issue" of Ebony this month. It's a "keepsake" because we all buy and save that stuff anyway.

I think people are reacting to Ebony's hype of the issue, and the misnomers in it, opposed to the person who started the thread. I don't think anyone is shooting the messenger necessarily.

Ebony just don't have THAT much of an exclusive from their own press release. Look at how many reporters and stories he did for 3121 and PLanet Earth and LotusFlow3r. He's always driven folks around in his car to listen to songs, or brought them to his home to listen to stuff. Maybe no one from Ebony has gotten that sort of access before, but other folks have. In the mid 90's, Alan Light had incredible access to prince at times, and Vibe carried a great article on the experience.

But time will tell. Monday, we will all know.

In a rare interview, the incomparable Prince grants Ebony unprecedented access within the inner courts of the famed Paisley Park, just outside of Minneapolis. During this 12-hour encounter, the musical genius opens up in his own way about topics ranging from his experience going door-to-door as a Jehovah’s Witness to his priorities regarding his relationship with Bria Valente. As the pop star approaches 52, fans can celebrate his life and music with this keepsake July issue featuring him in his own words and signature never-before-seen photos.

Let's just hope he didn't put his foot in his mouth and leave folks questioning what he meant on specific topics he discussed in that interview, because you know there are some fans here who t will somehow twist his opinions, to mean something else.lol

The good thing is, the information will be coming straight from him, so it's will be more like a confirmation to how he feels no specific issues. This should be interesting.

You could be right, given the fact the snippet posted on here does state he opened the gate to Paisley Park for Ebony to interview him, which is not something he doesn't seem to do often, when it comes to interviews.

Prince is on the cover of Ebony this month, which we mentioned a couple of months ago.

It is an interview with the music superstar and never before seen photos. They hung with the purple one for 12 hours and talk about him going door to door as a Jehovah Witness and talks about his relationship with Bria Valente.

They had me at the never before seen photos. I do wonder what he will talk about as talking about religion is always tricky. You are bound to offend someone no matter how hard you try not to.

As for the cover photo, I always said Prince had balls of titanium. Now, he is just flaunting them.-Dr.FB

"never before seen photos" oooooh I'm so excited rolleyes

Ebony is a lifestyle (not a music magazine), and Prince seems content promoting his lifestyle, not music at this point. Unless the interview was done by a serious music journalist who has followed Prince's career for a longtime, I don't expect many "revelations" in this article to anyone who is even a casual visitor of sites like the ORG.

Good god, give it a fucking rest, it's an INTERVIEW in Ebony magazine, not a hit piece.

Even though I'm sure you'd prefer an inquisition with the result being Prince would be banished to a deserted island where his only reading material would be printouts of YEARS of Bart's missives about how Prince has ruined both of their lives by not following Bart's "This is your life, Prince" script.
