Cool. I like diversity in his bands. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Where did he say this? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

That girl is fantastic. I've seen her play during a concert on PBS. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Holy crap! I was just watching the 25th Anniversary RnR Hall of Fame concert and she was the bass player for Jeff Beck!! SHE'S FUNKY AS HELL! I thought she was his daughter or something since she was so young! "The voter is less important than the man who provides money to the candidate," - Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens

She was playing with Beck 4 a while... now Beck has Rhonda Smith on Bass 4 his latest tour. So they traded bassists?
According 2 this thread, she worked on Shelby J's project: http://prince.org/msg/8/297134 "He's a musician's musician..."

Y did this thread just kind of die? It is the most interesting news in weeks....
So if i piece all the info 2gether we see: Tal and Chris have been working with Prince since February of 2009..... they were recording/rehearsing as a TRIO. It is NOT clear weather or not they R both part of his current lineup of the NPG. Will the Shelby J project see the light of day? more info is appreciated... [Edited 4/27/10 15:31pm] thaCONcept

So far it looks like everyone:Drummer Bassist, is under 25?

It would be very interesting indeed if this does turn out to be true.
She is quite a talent, an excellent bass player, especially for her years. Reminds me of Jaco Pastorious with the way she plays (and she's got a long way to go before she gets anywhere near the best bassist on the planet right now, but she's getting there!). A febrile talent, indeed ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

= hungry Might be good for Prince's career FINALLY!!! It's about freeaking time!! Go the rout of my other musical hero, Miles. Get that fresh blood, young hungry cats ready and willing 4 anything. The drummer has that Tony Williams kind of fire, that spark. The bassist seems promising as well. I checked her site. Seems to b borrowing a page from Jaco- in her own way of couse.

If she is the new NPG bassist then she will not look like that for very long. She will soon be fitted up to blend in with the NPG dress code. [Edited 4/27/10 16:11pm]

Like Esperanza Spalding, she doesn't really need Prince. She could just be a solo bassist. Oh well. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

[Edited 4/27/10 16:11pm] I was thinking the same thing No more t shirts & jeans 4 U! she'll be all tarted up in no time. but it would be cool if this was the new vibe he was going for, at least with the band. a mish-mash of young musicians who are individuals and haven't necessarily been "discovered" by him that got to do their own thing within the framework of being his backing band. could breathe some new life into his studio work and stage performances. especially if he opens himself up to true collaboration with his musicians again. it's been quite some time. but Mars23's question needs to be re-iterated and answered: Where did Crhis Coleman say this?

I have no corroborating evidence, but I feel like I read the "traded bass players" comment somewhere else too. I would not be surprised if it was true. My Legacy

[Edited 4/27/10 16:11pm] I was thinking the same thing No more t shirts & jeans 4 U! it would be nice if Prince made a clean cut of the NPG and maybe ditch the mascara and sparkly lace and go the jeans and a t-shirt route. lol It is so much more comfy. There are some really soft cotton t-shirts, perfect for summer. Life really is so much nicer wearing jeans and tees, and some nice sandals.....unless you live in Minnesota or something

No one has porvided any evidence and her myspace page directly contradicts this, saying she is not touring this summer so she can work on her solo project. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |
