I bought it on vinyl in 90 with the bonus tracks (All My Dreams and Ol Friends) and then bought it on cd in 94.

Afterwards, I saw "The Back Album" which I had to have because it had Horny Toad on it and I never could get it, anywhere...
Same cover (or his pic on it) as the boot Black Album, but pink. It had all the B-Sides, before "The Hits - B-Sides."

Sure. It was a limited edition CD released back in 1994, but it wasn't really that hard to find even later to the decade.
Thanks for bringing it up, haven't listened to it in a while.

yeah he didn't want it released... He put a message in a video clip and then he performed 2 tracks live on a world tour, then a couple if years later a million dollar check convinced him it should be officially released, especially since it was leaked anyway and alotta people already had it. Limited release, the mystique was over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I bought two different vinyl bootlegs from little independent record stores in the middle of Houston in 1988. Then I bought 2 different bootleg cd's at record conventions in Austin. Then I bought the best sounding bootleg CD (sounds better then the released version from '94) in '93 at Camden Market in London. Then I bought three cd's official releases in 1994. Then I got the digital pirate remaster cd.
I regret not buying the official vinyl release in 1994. That would have sounded good, and I would have made a pro transfer to CD. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

And that's what we call a fake, and/or a bootleg. Oh yeah,I know that, the sound on those 'bonus' tracks was aweful, i even think ..Friends skips aswell, it was all that was available at the time. She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

Bought an official WB Europe copy on vinyl in Florence, Summer 1989. They had two copies... I only bought one (yes, I was an idiot). Had someone offer me at least $500 for it in the early 90s, but I wasn't about to part with it. Having to keep track of something so valuable and awkward in size on multiple airplanes from Italy to New York to Oklahoma was a bit tedious, but it was worth the journey. I also own a '94 copy on CD (that trip to the local Hastings was a little less eventful).

ALSO: What Prince album(s) do you recommend that was released after 1992? Yes. Bootleg cassette from a DJ who had the vinyl back in the day and then the CD. All of them except 'Planet Earth,' 'Kama Sutra,' any collection other than the 3 disc 'Hits Collection.' I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

First had it on a bootleg cassette way back when. I then got it on a bootleg vinyl. I then got about 3 or 4 different bootleg CD's of it because they all had "extra" songs on them. I then got the officially released version. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Yep, bootleg tape back in 88 (i was facinated with 'bob George' and didnt belive it was P.) 2X bootleg vinyls and 2 bootleg cd's between 88 and 94. I then got the offical cd and vinyl release in 94 and was so pleased with them! I remember the ad on tv announcing it was about to be released and it wanted you to record the ad and play it back in slow mo on your vhs for 'messages'The original song played over the top of it was 'Le Grind'. You can find the ad on youtube [Edited 1/23/10 10:59am]
