True. I just don't like the "he's giving to us from his heart" crap. We pay for it. He's not giving us anything.

no, I think even he'd say he's selling a product, as much as he talks about money

I mean, if Prince came up and gave me a cassette of his new music, you know, because I'm his pal and he wanted me to listen to it, I probably wouldn't come on the Internet and talk shit about how horrible it was. That would be a thing between friends.

To his face? Well, sure. He needs people to tell him, right?

But we're not pals. I buy his music and a shitload of other people do too. He's a world famous rock star. With high standards, to boot. It's natural that people are going to offer feedback. And when he doesn't seem to be living up to his own standard...

Look, we've probably all heard Prince ragging on people while on stage. Sometimes they're his employees and sometimes they're other popular figures from music or television. Fans taking the piss is no different. "Hey Prince, that kind of sucks" is not a venomous attack.

I got slapped in the fourth grade because this girl accused me of calling her names and I was kind of a smart ass about it when I denied it to the teacher. Of course the teacher didn't believe me, so when I smarted off she slapped me. Then the girl admitted she was lying.

Good times. biggrin

Not trying to be funny...are you referring to yourself or Prince.

This is Prince's journey, we're bystanders and blessed to observe.

No, we're bystanders who pay money to observe.

Yes, no dispute here...you pay money; however, that is your choice. Prince makes the music he wants to make, that is his choice...no matter what you write, like or don't like. That's what I mean...its Prince's journey, sit back and enjoy (or not).

I'd bet you've purchased other items (clothing, food, Cds, hotel rooms, etc.) you really didn't like -- after spending the money...same principle, sometimes you win...

True. For example, that sandwich at Burger King last week was GROSS.

(I am insensitive to Burger King.)

the writer is obviously a prince fan highly influenced by a lot of the talk going on here.

secondly, no matter what prince does, he will never be able to satisfy every1 who actually think that they know how to be prince better than he himself does
