"The View" I guess?? ? We're referring to when Tavis had mentioned that Prince has had him, Dr. West, and other educators/scholars, friends over to his home where they discussed and shared their opinions regarding the SOBU conference and other issues. Some of us are just saying we would love to see a clip/vid of Prince and those mentioned above in those discussions if it was an "actual" televised/recorded one made available to the public. The View? No, I doubt you will ever see that type of discussion on that show. [Edited 4/29/09 19:37pm]

Beyond his guff about "reading the scriptures" with Bria. I do want to see that roundtable with him, Tavis, Michael Dyson, Cornell West. I'd actually pay to watch that. Interesting moment when he finally admitted that he doesn't like male vocalists very much, which is why he uses falsetto on ballads. What he is admitting, for the first time was that he likes James Brown's sound more than his vocals. Stevie's too, I guess. He just hates men. I should be offended..lol Where did you see this part of the interview? I don't remember seeing that last night. Was that something extra? Bella, in Part 2 of the interview - here's the link. He mentioned that close to the mid-end of his interview with Tavis. http://www.pbs.org/kcet/t...0428.html#

I liked it, and I wish it were longer, he has a nice smooth talking voice, I was curious when he was applauding Bria if Tavis was going to ask the obvious question are they acouple or what

Prince's religious views from the Tavis interview:
Doesn't Prince understand that People in the USA are free to practice whatever religion they want. How can one integrate religion into politics, btw isn't that what we freed ourselves from the church ruling the country. Is he just talking about saying a prayer before assembly. If so what prayer and in what religion. Can't say one prayer without it offending other religions. It's not very clear. Also what does he mean by reading scriptures? I don't get why he has to read scriptures to other people, is he becoming a minister? Does he now have to go to the other extreme of what he was? I am so confused... [Edited 4/29/09 19:45pm]

Always haved loved Anita, such a class act! Although the ultimate collab for me would be P. and Sade, Anita and him would be very cool. Hmmmm i guess we will have to wait and see -

I noticed a certain sadness when he said people say things behind his back. I think he was referencing Wendy's comment on calling him being a "fancy lesbian".
I feel it is so hurtful for Wendy to say that of a former friend, especially since she knows people are always saying hurtful things about him. What really is her point? Also it was Prince who brought her into his band and this is how she repays him. Sad isn't it? Prince I think has so much more class in how he handled the situation. He said, they were in love before and why not now, there is a true romantic side to this man that I absolutely LOVE.

I did not mean it to be offensive. I was curious because, as Prince stated in the interview, some white people need to know more about what's going on with the rest of us. Whenever I have these kinds of discussions with people, my experience has been that the white people with whom I am talking are the ones who are quick to dismiss theses theories as nonsense or call people "nuts" for believing it, just as 2Freaky4Church did. Also, if you are well aware of this history, why did you make the comment that I was "one of those black people who was breathing chemicals?" As I said, nothing in my post was unfounded or the result of chemically-induced thought. Thank u bellanoche 4 all your insightful information that is so appreciated

(i.e. economics, health issues, foreign relations, religion, environment, etc.) [Edited 4/29/09 9:28am] That would be incredible. From the interview, I'm interested in checking out stuff from the State of the Black Union and that doc on Jack Johnson. If u get a chance, rent or buy the movie Great White Hope, starring James Earl Jones as Jack Johnson. Excellent movie and I can see why Prince have the admiration for Jack Johnson.

Prince's jazz work is really good. I love Xpectation, the Madhouse albums, and Eric Leeds' 2 albums as well. The only problem that I can see is that Anita and Prince might butt heads since they both are pretty headstrong. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Tavis Interview Pt. 2 - Prince deffinately seemed more comfortable with the Part 2 of the interview and Tavis got right to the point. Very well done. Bria was charming, articulate, polished and genuine. She did a fine job as well.
Hopefully both nights will help to expose the Cds to a broader audience.
