The PRESS One word about this mess hits a major publication and Prince and his whole con operation is finished. The natives are getting restless.. Savannah, I don't understand why you want a club that you aren't even a part of to be "finished". Frankly, I am surprised you want to "expose" Prince. I don't understand why you even care...you didn't even join! Has he personally done something to hurt you? I don't want the club to shut down, and I doubt that others who joined want this as well.

I haven't yet read all of your post, but I stopped at the first line.
You're absolutely right. It is premature. The club does not run from January 1 to December 31. The membership starts in March. This means that there is still 2.5 - 3 months left. So stop whining and chill the phuc out already. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

I agree that the year should extend through February (giving them some time to mail out another CD), however, they have chosen to end the year on 12/31. Who knows why. No Candy 4 Me

That's correct. I believe the reason for it ending on 12/31/2002 is for tax purposes.

"Us"? Please tell me you are NPGMC! Regardless, If you are asking, should the NPGMC become a e-version of Warner Brother, I assume you are saying prince will be under contact to us, having to release CDs when he said he would? Good. If he wants our money up front. If Prince doesn't like contracts, he shouldn't make us sign one. Its simple. Simple way round this. No members fee, we choose to buy each album as he makes it available. That is what freedom sounds like, no CON for him, no CON for us. right on nate, that's what it all boils down to. prince has said for so long that he wanted to be "free". Now look at what he does with his freedom. Make you pay in advance and not keep his promise. your first post was very good as well, nate. You make a good lawyer, unlike Funkybrotha. There is just one thing missing and that is all that went wrong with the tour this year. You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.

damn dude you need to help yourself. You got everything your heart desires but then you tell everybody in here who didn't, to stop whining and that they have no legal cause of action. They do "brotha"... they do.
But if it would have happened to you, you say that you would be emailing them as well. you are just being just selfish and unreasonable. if you think you can make it into a lawyer with this attitude then you better start looking for a different education. You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.

That's correct. I believe the reason for it ending on 12/31/2002 is for tax purposes. I don't think that's the reason. I think the reason for ending it on 12/31 is because the club has sent everything it is planning to send... what point would leaving it open for two more months do if they weren't planning on offering anything else? As an actual matter, NPGMC does not gain any tax advantage by ending the club on 12/31. The only possible tax implication continuing the year through February would have is that the NPGMC could possibly report (depending on which method of accounting they use) some of the fees paid as 2003 income instead of as 2002 income. This would merely defer some of their taxes an additional year, which is more efficient from a tax perspective because of the time value of money. No Candy 4 Me

The only irony in all of this chaos is that we all own bootlegs of the artist work and no one is forming a petition to send the artist fair compensation for that bit of thievery. I guess it is easier to find fault in the stars than in ourselves. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

how would he argue that hes loosing sales on an album that never existed? who wouldnt buy official copies of this stuff if it were finally released just because they had the cruddy boot of it? he didnt pay a penny for them to be manufactured or distributed. he got free promotion. i dont think there would even be a third of us here had we not come across the early bootlegs.

CON-TRACT, oh no!!! I didn't think Prince liked doing business this way. But of course he can't shake all our hands and promise us the goods now can he. The best solution is to make all the music and merchandise for sale on the website and let the people decide what they want!!! Good luck everyone, I have never been a member and will never be a FAM. Especially after seeing all the posts. I can sit on the sideline and wait to see what I want before I pay for it. Thanks. "

I think it's great that people who aren't even members care about the rights of those who are. I also believe that those who take action against the NPGMC represent a whole lot of other members who are afraid or dont exactly know how to speak up and stand up for themselves. I think fans will remain fans, and whoever wants to, will continue to listen to prince music and enjoy it, regardless of the existence of NPGMC.

You know, I've stated many times that i'd GLADLY fork over the money I've spent on bootlegs to Prince, and suggested as much to NPGMC, if only he chose to make the stuff available; you know, "free the music". Make the stuff available in the retail section. Call it "An explosion of music" or some such thing, and let us choose what we want to buy. Simple really. All the stuff is supposedly in the can anyway. Prince can press what he needs to fill the orders. I don't feel like a thief at all. thieves steal. I PAID for mu music.

...But you are a pirate . You bought music through a 4th party, who recorded the music to make a profit. All the while never intending to give money to the artist, the artist's recording company,&/or any one else.
The whole issue is bullshit.Whatever Prince does is open season to some. Prince could release Roadhouse Garden, the original Crystal Ball,& the Undertaker as the next 3 albums and you will complain about the "sound quality" or "too many overdubs" ,yada, yada, yada. My personal wish is for Prince on Friday night's show to retire. Then you unhappy souls will have to find another site to haunt!

I am wary the thread is drifting away from its original intent.
Do I take it, from a great deal of response here, and on the BBB thread, they we have a great deal of "I'm all right, so fuck you" fans in here!?!?" These are the people who scream, "He did deliver!" or "what do you expect for 100 dollars?" Because they got their stuff, they are blind to the fact others didn't. Thats fine, but why do they keep turning up on the threads, trying to defend the club all the time?

perhaps - I am not an idolizer - I paid my money - and what I got was well worth it.
