Do ya'll (I'm Dallas) think that this is an official Prince project? My wife bought me a cool book with a lot of Prince and his proteges pictures in it, for Christmas. I had never heard of the book, great surprise. Of course it is not a recognized book by prince. The book is "Prince - Life and Times", by Jawbone. It has little symbol guitars all over it and the spaces between them is purple velvet. I don't think anyone is win a private party. I think this just another Princetorian trying to make his money!

It's by Jason Draper, and no it's not an official item but it imho it was a much better project than 21 Nights. I wonder if the 2nd JD book has dropped yet...???

Cool.....but didn't we just pay $77.00 for a annual fee for a Website that was promising to be Revolutionary? It is a cool website.....but other than the Coachella Festival live cuts that are on there and a few new video's like the "CRIMSON AND CLOVER," " CHOCOLATE BOX," and "EVERYTIME," jams, most of it is old hat. I dig the new 3 albums as they are complete masterpieces, but we all could have just very well ran out to TARGET are purchased them for $12.00 and saved on the $77.00. The NPGMC Website ROCKED as it featured so much more for everyone's $$$$$. So far to date.....this site has not lived up to it's "XPECTATIONS!!" Prince are you reading????
I don't mean any disrespect, but there are so many out there in PRINCE LAND who signed up for the launch that are having very hard financial times during this economical crisis like myself who feel that it was a lot of $$$ to shell out. Can we get our dollars worth???? Thank you.

I'm looking forward to you deleting your account here.

I don't understand people getting so worked up over the price of this thing. It's a lot of money, but THAT'S THE POINT! Look at the other products for sale at the Opus site. Clearly, they trade in pricey, high end collector's items. It's not like everything Prince does is so costly, but if he can make money, why shouldn't he? Have a little perspective, folks.

That said, I think everyone who has joined LotusFlow3r.com has a right to be annoyed about the exclusivity of the 21 Nights video. This is exactly the sort of thing that should be added to the site if he wants folks to sign up again next year.

amen..

I am sticking with www.lotusflow3r.com I already paid for the website membership AND I bought the albums from Target. I know others who did the same.

I was one of those Prince appreciators who FLEW to London in 2007 to see 21 Nights but I gave up so much to go (my entire summer fun, travel, etc) but it was worth it.

But this is too much for me to stomach

Even if I had the money I could not do this..

I would only consider this if:

1. Prince would allow the buyer a personal interview and opportunity to work with him on an upcoming project
2. Prince would allow the buyer to receive some production credit on something just to have name association (shoot play the spoons or something)
3. Prince would allow the buyer access to be mentored in the music industry by him

Sorry but I can't stomach this price. I think my eyes started bleeding purple blood when I saw this.

I understand being a collector's item which is great but right now in this economy I don't know who would buy this.

I respect the art but this is way to much for me to comprehend.

Thank you for sharing..
Be glad and rejoice for the Lord has done marvelous things!

wow...

sure it's pricey but, c'mon...its still only $2100. asking for production credits and mentor sessions and interview rights...geez, for a measley $2100. lol i'm honestly not seeing the craziness in all of this. first of all, its something that has a connection to sotheby's and they don't deal in anything but high end. second of all, if you can't afford it don't worry about buying it. what's the problem?

do y'all throw a temper tantrum every time you see something you can't afford?

lol that's EXACTLY how i feel...

now, if i knew how the private performance contest worked, i might suggest 50 orgers getting together and each throwing in 300 bucks towards the auction. if the "collective" wins the contest for $15k, those 50 get the private performance.

but somehow i'm sure that only works well on paper, lol

.....as for the "exclusive" content?
Im sure some of the more "profesional" bootlegers will invest in a copy, press it,release it,and make a handsome profit from the "poorer" real fans.
Prince has just handed the bootlegers some nice "official" candy.

Forgive me if someone said this already but isn't the pre-loaded cd the same as the 21 Nights book. This seems to be just a amped up version nothing really that special. How many gigs is the Ipod gonna be anyone know. It could be just enough to hold the video and album. But a purple Ipod is pretty frickin' sweet.

I posted this in the lotusflow3r discussion, but I'll post it again in this thread...

I really am not feeling good about this extravagant luxury item. WTF?? Why would he endorse a product that's created with alligator skin when he's supposed to be so pro animal rights??? eek And why would this come out now? This should have been available when he first had the 21 nights book for sale even though I wouldn't have bought it anyway, but at least it would make sense.

It just seems so tacky at a time when so many people are struggling in this nation to try to entice his fans to spend that kind of money to get an official 40 minute show of him during the 21 nights concert...and on an i-pod at that! I would at least want a DVD version of the show so I can see him on my TV in high quality for that price!!

Currently, every Prince album before/during the name change is available on iTunes. NO albums that were released as prince are (or ever were, AFAIK) available.

Musicology and 3121 were available, but aren't on there now. Planet Earth is currently available, as is the F.U.N.K. single.

I think the iPod Touch is the nicest and best way to offer music on video on a portable device. Plus, there might be software that might disable (or at least deter) piracy.

I can't believe how crazy this thread has gotten lol

at the same time, I kinda can confused

I refused to even pay the $77 membership fee... now if I were the one paying my credit card balance, I'd "highly consider it" wink

but even if I did and had that kind of cash... HELL NO! not for this.

I'm sorry. I draw the line with buying albums and down the road, concert tickets. At least then I KNOW I'm getting my money's worth.

I think I'm with the majority in saying that he had officially lost his mind falloff
Nobody has this kind of money today and even if they did, they wouldn't spend it on THIS of all things. I'm waiting for someone to come here and shout out "it's a joke/fraud/imitation"... I'm more willing to believe that than a certain someone OKing something like this. Not to mention all of the bling-bling that goes with it and the price.

I bought an iPOD with the full intention of making it "purple." In the sense that it will take the place of my CD wallet where I put all of my purple music. Now I even have protege and associated artists on it (The Time, The Family, Wendy & Lisa, Madhouse 8).
What's on the inside that counts wink and it was a helluva lot cheaper.
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

GO UNDER FAQ it says new material will be given out over the time. Prob unreleased work and vids and what not. This is just something for those fans with a bigger bank account, so what? Besides the DVD for the 21 Nights will come out eventually for all the other fans so chill
