the comments I got today from others who want it was that there arent any Targets in NYC (manhattan) and they dont want to wait for it when purchasing online, take up a collection if you have to lol! and make the trip for them!

i haven't seen this mentioned yet, but every time i have visited billboard.com in the last couple of days i have seen a target/lotusflow3r banner ad at the top of the page.

They have the lotusflower cds near the front by the cash registers, and also where they sell other cds/books/video games. While I was there, this russian guy (or could have been italian), walked up to lotusflower cds at the same exact time I did. We got into a conversation about it, I told him it's a nice cd and that he should check it out, then he said "Yeah Prince is a nice guy, I like his music" (as if he knew Prince..lol), then he turned the cd around and asked who the female was on the back, I told him it was Prince's protege and that her cd is pretty good, and he should buy it, and as I begin to walk away, thinking I convinced the guy to buy the cd, instead he puts the cd back, then follows a few steps behind me, and asked me if I was single, and if he could have my phone number. Geez, here I am trying to do the work and convince some guy to buy a Prince cd to increase sales of the cd, and instead the guy tries to get my number. I just laughed, shook my head and walked away, well, can't fault me for trying... at least I tried.

For all you Manhattanites, there is a Target on Atlantic Ave. at Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn. Lots of trains stop there, or you can walk or ride your bikes over the Brooklyn Bridge. The Manhattan Bridge takes your to Flatbush Ave but I don't think you can walk or bike over this bridge.

I guess I was happy to see someone checking out the cd for a possible purchase. But anyway, don't want to take this thread off topic. I'm getting ready to watch the Jay Leno show repeat performance of Prince tonight on NBC in a few minutes. It will probably be the "Old Skool Company" performance, should be on around 12:24am since Jay's show ends at 12:37am. This repeat show may help boost sales tomorrow.

Well, it looks like it's going to be the "Feel Good, Feel Wonderful" performance. They just showed a 2 second glimpse of the outside audience...and I saw that guy (the fan) whose long ass arms was flailing all over the place while Prince performed. But hey, at least we get to see Prince perform again.

I think this is a good thing for several reasons:


1) Firstly, this will be his fifth album to debute at #1. It'll be very hard for even the most ignorant of folks to say he's an 80s phenomenon. I remember not to long ago that Fred Durst once said "When's the last time this guy had a hit record?" Fuck you Fred.

2) The fact that the product he released is a solid product makes it better for buzz. Nothing was more disappointing than a so-so record like Musicology to generate so many sales, but be so lackluster that there was no buzz. This album will generate buzz cause it's got something for everyone...and it's done well.

3) It's price very reasonably. 12 bucks for 3 CDs? You can't beat that. So even if you're not 100% crazy about Prince, it seems like a good deal.

5) Every time Prince has a successful release, he always does something really bizarre to fuck things up. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. I've been bored lately--this will entertain me somewhat.
