The whole band was rocking last night. The only thing I wish was there was a huge horns section. You have to have horns on that song to increase the funkiness.
Change it one more time..

Where were the horn players on Feel Better...? They must have been there as Prince is so into "real music by real musicians". Surely they wern't Horns on TDK?

So...I don't get Leno here, but I've been watching them all online.. (Stupid College...)

I saw him perform Feel Good until it cut off air.. Lasted about 4 minutes and 20 seconds. Did I miss anything else? What the heck are these interviews you all speak of??

Just curious, are you a musician? I'm interested in your technical analysis of how Cora is rising on the funk meter...

Actually it just tells me there were a lot of people who just never heard the song before.

When I saw Prince make the debut performance of Gold at Glam Slam MPLS in 1994, I don't remember many in the audience looking bored.

Guys that performance was totally weak... and that's coming from someone who likes the song on record. Really lame auto-pilot Prince was on display last night.

Shelby looked so cute, like she was really havin a blast!!

Prince is solid and I love that he has the stallion stamina
What was the rest of the show?

BTW, there was a note during TV broadcast that we can log on to see bonus material. They did that with The Time lasat year, but nothing on Prince yet...

I forgot to mention...

The "Freaks on this Side" chant was a perfect choice. The only thing that would have completed the vibe would have been if Doug E. Fresh had popped out the trunk of that car and dropped a verse.

OK.. so use some logic and think about what the difference is between a performance in his club in MPLS and performance open to general public on a late night talk show in LA. Thanks

ShelbyJ & the other singers really enjoyed themselves they were grinning all the way through biggrin I prefer Dreamer performance but they all did a good Job.

The footage was a bit pixellated so I cant be sure, but did anyone else see Chelsea Rogers on stage the tall girl with the long purple and lilac dress? the girl wearing the matching top as prince was the girl from the Choc Box video I think.

I wish I was on that stage.... I'd have Danced for him...lol

That one's free and easy for his fans to attend and one was relatively expensive (at the time)?

You can blame it on the environment if you want, but I don't think the atmosphere was solely down to the audience not having heard the song before. The audience on Wednesday and Thursday certainly seemed more into it - perhaps the indoor/outdoor dynamic had something to do with that, but I think the larger issue was that yesterday's song was simply flat.

Haven't heard the CD's but after seeing/hearing these 3 songs, "The feel good..." is the most catchy and funky of them.

You mean Bobby from the San Francisco / Bay area "Freaks on This Side" club? Yeah, Bobby's been on TV before. He's been on Leno before. He's a cool cat. Met him during the NPS Festival Tour when it hit San Francisco in October 1998.

If you have it, check out Bobby on Leno during "Come On" and the "Come On Remix."

Fun Bobby was always the man with all the energy at the Paisley Park celebrations in 2001 and 2002. He helped keep everyone going through the long nights smile

I have looked at the performance a few times now and I honestly think it is time for you to get off the purple boat because you are seeing things that do not exisit.
The audience reaction was good for a new song. I mean if you ever look at these talk shows people usually just sit a not make a sound the entire performance.

I loved every performance and enjoyed each song although I really thought that he would bring Bria on and they would sing Elixer on last night but he was straight up jamming all three nights and the people who did not think that either night was great. Well, I don't know what show you watched because Prince and the band were jamming to me. I was shocked not to see Renato any night but not because I missed him. I'm glad I saw them but must admit to being extremely tired from staying up late every night then going to work.

Only dreamer stood out. The rest are funk jams that perhaps had I never heard Prince play a funk jam I would love it. He can still throw a party onstage, but not like he used to. I'd rather just see him play some sold tunes. Which his playing ability deserves.

Agreed. So far, the three songs he's performed live work great. Having heard him do Crimson and Clover last year... I am anxiously looking forward to him heading out east.

Bobby ? The butcher from the Bay Area ? I met him at Paisley Park during the 2002
celebration and hung out with him, he´s really cool and a very nice person. He was quite surprised to see that people from Europe know him. lol It´s such a small world.

I think it is kinda telling that he didn't have Bria on the stage. Could it be her 10-mins are over? I did see Ms. Rodgers as well very cute the girl that had the matching dress was cute. I don't know why peeps on here are talking about Bobby he really is a nice guy and if you ever get a chance to party with him and his friends you will have a great time. I know for a fact that Prince loves him very much cuz he brings it everytime. I don't know why people on here would diss other fans other than maybe just being mean at heart. I don't see what talking about another fan like some on here does for the person talking. They have paid money to see Prince over the years just like you. I wonder what would be said about you if you were caught on camera? Granted you might not be so "out" there with the love but it is still love in the same. You never know what is going on in other peoples lives. She might be strange to you but you might be strange to others as well and the Bobby comments just way outta line I loved seeing him there it made me happy cuz if I was there I would be groovin 2. Just my 2 cents much love and respect.

The band is just so lackluster. Prince had to respond to a weak ass La crowd. Looked like they were waiting for Garth Brooks. Damn oakies.
