Aw crap, I miss checking the org one day and there's new tunes galore! Damn you Prince!!mad

Anyway, all this praise from orgers concerns me. This is a bad sign. I don't know why, but this is a very bad sign boxed

Forever should have been given to a Christian pop act. Not a terrible piece of pop but hardly anything you'd hope to find on a good Prince album. A few serviceable Prince guitar lines but nothing to get excited about. Terrible, cheesy chorus.

Colonized Mind More moronic lyrics. Bland, and I don't mean Michael, tempo. Sounds like a cousin to his version of When Will We Be Paid. Decent guitar that might work better in a live environment where he could drop the lyrics and solo away. In other words, 90% of the song is disposable.

Crimson and Clover. Probably the best of the lot. Too bad it's not his song. Ultimately a decent cover with a good solo. Would be a passable b-side. He must really be out of ideas if he's got to rely on covers for new material.

Wall of Berlin I've said in the past I think the reason Prince has never made a rock album is because I don't think he knows how. This song is further proof of that theory. Might be better live where the lyrics and restricted studio sound would be dumped and the amps turned up. Like Colonized Mind, 90% of the song is disposable.

Lucky u got the new cut from girlbros to keep your feet a tapping, I think not!

Omg I think London has done Prince some good, Colonized Mind is totally amazing, and Walls of Berlin is a strong grower, i guest its Glass cutters Sister.

I honestly think Colonized Mind could be a easy hit?!!

Why the need for the girlbros dig? The new W&L album sounds fantastic and is miles ahead anything Prince has released in years. All that noise you can hear is the sighs of relief on hearing music like this come from Pricne, at last. This might sound snappy, but that was an entirely unnecessary comment. People have the right to say what they want, agree or disagree, don't snipe. Shit, I'm such a hypocrite it's untrue... perhaps you touched my W&L nerve... whatever. Be thankful Prince is back. Be thankful people associated with him continue to reaffirm the quality of music stemming from an association that ended far too soon.

Forever is a nice pop gem

Colonized Mind should be the single. From the first chord I was into this.

Wall of Berlin might need some more listens.

Crimson and Clover is a classic than now has a Princely touch.

Let's all get a bus and go knock on Prince's door and demand the album. Who's with me?!!
Love God and I shall 4ever Love u

Mostly agree, this is fam-friendly music straight out of a cheesy 90's album. My least liked of the three

I like the mellowness, the clean messy sound, I like it. Everything clicks for me, the singing the guitar work, great production

Crimson and Clover. Probably the best of the lot. Too bad it's not his song. Ultimately a decent cover with a good solo. Would be a passable b-side. He must really be out of ideas if he's got to rely on covers for new material.
Havent listened to this one yet

Again i like the clean messy sound, these tracks are much much better produced than almost anything he's done in a while. I like the end part highlighting the instrumentation. The begining is cringy

I think what i dislike of all three new tracks are his singing and the lyrics.
The best thing i like about the three new tracks is the rock sound, his guitar playing, the druming and the clean messy sound. nicely produced.
No bold melodies, no bold instrumentation, but nicely played for sure.
The worst song of the three for me is "forever"

only listened to 4Ever and Colonized Mind so far and I'm relistening to both!

They sound good... the guitar on Colonized is crazy and it sounds like it was recorded live. Forever feels good... nice little guitar... and keys and the vocals are solid. Good to hear him singing like this!

Colonized Mind is just crazy... love it Really like 4Ever too

Pricne?

And here we go again.... 'Be thankful Prince is back' why where did he go?

There are some (a lot) people on here who are just here to shit on the man no matter what he puts out (some have taken the girlbros attack route...u know the type ...Wendy and Lisa made Prince a genius kind of shit) and others who within 10 nanoseconds put out a mini album review with silly half thought out pseudo babbles....just kind of boring u know, like they could do better I mean we are talking about Prince here right! Can U imagine if they actually got to meet the man and he says so what did U think of that cut and then # (insert orger here) says well its kind of crap like, here is what you should have done!

Crimson and Clover..... What!!!.... thats what I'm talking about! Very nice cover. Vocal treatment very nice!! Guitar is crazy Loved that.... going to listen again. Do you know how long folks have been waiting for Prince to sound like that! It gave me chills. Finally a vocal to match the track.... I know its not his song but he does a great job with it. All three songs would be killer live no doubt. In fact portions of them sound live

On to song 4! Wall of Berlin... be right back

Wall of Berlin.... like it! The song could stand on its own as an instrumental its groove for sure.... but the surprise is his vocal treatment of the song! He hasn't done as well with speak/rap songs. Mr Goodnight anybody was just so embarassing and there have been others. But you can tell he gave a shit here... he worked on it! And it sounds great.... that guitar and drum at the end is tight! Very good

I enjoyed each of these songs... they all made me smile. Biggests smile I've had in a long time. I'm not going to put my man down but I haven't been a huge fan of his last 3 efforts collectively. I really like each of these PERIOD!

Thanks P

this man manages to make a music-crackhead at the very mention of his name and the word "new" in the same sentence. The thirst he's created has me knocking on every e-door for an instant fix of his satiating drug. Praise God for Prince.

SPOOkYGAS - Oh My God! I Mistyped! 'Pricne' - well cut me down with your well-observed reading abilities... 'Get a fucking life' thanx for that too. I think you'll find I toned down my response to your ill-conceived reply to a person's opinion. The mere fact that you took the time to write such shit suggests that both of us should go 'get lives', eh? It's interesting that the one line putdown you contributed counted as constructive critism, but mine didn't. Your one-line knee jerk response... your I've no life, I must comment here response. Congratulations on being able to differentiate between the two... your lifeskills came to the fore there.

Oh, and by the way, yes W&L's latest album is streets ahead of ANYTHING Prince has released in YEARS and, gulp, yes, just eb thankful that Prince appears to be back with these wonderful songs.
