You know something? I for one am tired of the little divo's attitude about tape recorders and all that mess. child needs to get a grip on reality.
Efan said: We are told the parts qbout religion are especially misquoted.
Were there any other parts? This is why journalists like to use a tape recorder and a notepad, two things that Prince has for years not allowed. It is, of course, very easy to pretend you didn't say something you were quoted as saying if there's no recording of the event, which is probably why Prince doesn't allow them. Will there really be a tape recorder next time? In this particular case, the New Yorker writer is a veteran journalist and a journalism professor. I trust the accuracy of her quotes and believe Prince said what she quotes him as saying. We want to thank Prince’s people for clearing that up.-Dr.FB
Clearing what up? Issuing a statement that clearly explains how Prince really feels about gay marriage would clear it up.

Actually, I just wish that he would have a change of heart. I can't be a supporter of his any more, but I don't wish him anything but the love he is trying to find. I wish him the love he doesn't want to show to some of his fans.

I got one question to ask. If Prince is being so bigoted with his views, why are a good number of you in here being just as bigoted as he may be because he believes in a faith you don't subscribe to? Let's say you're an atheist, you wouldn't want someone to call you and your beliefs "shit" would you? You don't fight fire with fire you know. Just my 2 cents on what I see in here and it's quite sad. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

true true true. im against killing babies that have no rights because their parents are irresponsible or just selfish (abortion in 96% of cases) and im the bad person. im against homophobic criminals like che guevara and im the one that is an evil person. its amazing...

Colyr said: Prince never said “God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever and he just cleared it it out. He was like “enough”.
Pretty much what happened pre-flood. Evil abounded and God repented making man. Journalism has died. They have no idea that when they "misquote" someone it is the same a lying. Don't let it upset you, there is a reason God said vengeance is mine, they will pay the price. 1) A lot of journalists are Bible-believing Christians. 2) I'm not sure how Prince saying, "I didn't say that," establishes that a seasoned journalist and professor misquoted Prince. 3) Prince for years has resisted allowing interviews with tape recorders and notepads. And, given his history of promising one thing and doing the opposite, I'd say the odds are Miss Hoffman probably got it all right.

do you really know what's in his heart and you're basing this on same vague message where he said he was misquoted? even if he has his views on a lifestyle, does that mean he hates you or does not have love for you? if you choose to not support then i could dig that, but i just don't think Prince hates anyone. i just think he's misinformed, he needs to be educated (if this quote is true). i guess he hates Wendy then. while he salivates over money and lusts for women. come on people. someone who is serious about their religion doesn't fly in the face of it with outlandish contradictions in their own lifestyle. for arguments sake: Jesus Christ said "Love your enemies" where do lawyers and legal threats fit into that? just sayin as far as being misquoted: bullshit he screwed up and won't take responsibility for what he said as usual he blames it on someone else like a reporter without a tape-recorder and even if he was misquoted dont blame the reporter. take responsibility for allowing that kind of slip up. Prince's blame games are as old as the hills and definitely not becoming of a professional 50 year-old man. he fails to admit or apologize for his mistakes. he's always been that way. and my official response to the 'Pretend you are proposing to Prince' thread (which i won't dignify by posting it in the actual thread) is: no. why would i propose to a coward? y'all can hit me now.

hey watch it. i'm anti-soup. all soup-drinkers are going straight to hell. nuff said. well, i am trying to keep an open mind about the soup issue. first because i doubt god would ever condemn gay people just for eating soup, and second because i think it is all hype for prince's new album, the Soup Connection. anyways, that's what i heard on the internets

I am reminded of a JOTY show that I went to see in Pittsburgh in 96'. During the show Prince decided to scold a reporter who had printed a faxed interview with Prince that was published the day before where Prince said something like "I dislike record companies and the people that work for them.." Prince stated during the concert that the interviewer was false and that "I dislike no one...get it right Tony!" Tony Norman, a very well respected journalist for the Post Gazette, in an article several days later responded by standing behind every word because everything Mr. Norman printed in the article was directly from Prince and Paisley Park Enterprises. You are right UNION119. Prince would not take responsibility for the comments he made anyway. God forbid he would admit to such a gaffe. I wish he would clear the air about these comments though. He either means them/said them/alluded to them or didn't. I strongly feel he did. I'm not shocked or even surprised that Prince woud feel this way about gay rights. That's what religion does to so many people. It clouds sensible judgement and makes so many self-righteous bigots. It wasn't terribly long ago when black people and women didn't have equal rights, either.

cheers. i think most of us grown folk know he's never taken responsibility for anything he's ever said or done to hurt people..or whatever. he is an unconscionable liar, consumate ass-coverer and entirely glib in his reasoning. i am only sorry his public image of princely saint and savior has so many fans entranced in delusional thinking. hopefully one day people will realise there is a very big difference between the public image Prince has invented.. and who he really is. i'm sure he means well lol, but stupidity and a loose mouth last longer than good intentions. men with a backbone fess up to their mistakes. unfortunately, Prince is lilly-livered in this regard. great music though.

he really needs to get over the tape recorder thing, hell have one of your own but have some respect for journalistic process. if he dont wanna talk dont allow people over, he's 50 years old he should be past oppositional defiance. if you try to hinder people from doing their jobs effectively these things will continue to happen.

i interview boxers all the time they are totally cool with the need for tape recordings because they know i'm responsible to my editor. they also know that in the "hurt" business feelings are fragile and they dont want anyone misquoting them. Prince, Barack...these are not magic people, they're human. They've lived complex lives that have shaped who they are, and guess what? Just like the rest of us, they're gonna screw up. Does it make me enjoy his music less? Nope. There are so many artists who have said and done weird stuff, but at the same time they've provided the soundtrack to our lives. So I'll never boycott him, and I'll always give him his props. Now he needs to go sit down somewhere and shut up, lol
