i don't understand y u had 2 volunteer. were u in the marching band or something? u say u were dancing, but i can't imagine they would have 2 recruit people?!

It's similar to a big hollywood production where they hire lots of extras so there were ads for volunteers...the ads were even posted here and on hq. Team leaders had to recruit as least 10 people to register and we had to sign all sorts of releases and confidentiality agreements because the show content was a big secret.

It was a huge operation and very detailed. I have mad respect for the stage crew. That stage was something like 16 huge pieces that had to be moved and put together in a few minutes.

The superbowl is just about as big as it gets in the US. It was downright cute to see how excited Prince was...it took all of his cool just to keep from grinning ear to ear. I wish more folks could see that side of him.

Most of the volunteers were kids under 21 who mostly know hip hop and plastic r&b. Seeing a real master musician in action blew them away! LOL.

Thanks. In spite of everything I'd do it all again because two of my favorite things are football and Prince. No surgery thank goodness, but I did have to use a walker and endure two huge injections in my knee...ouch!

just watched it again, one of the parts i love the best, is when the brass & reed march band arrives out, I was part of such a band for over 10 yrs and we played and marched in competitions against some of the biggest bands in america at the st patrick day parades in ireland, the amount of work that goes into getting the choreograhpy and movement right, is unbeliveable, and i was really touched when I saw the band arrive out in the superbowl video, although you cant really hear them. Great memories, roll on Tom Petty, another fav of mine

Definitely needed to be in the top 5 best Superbowl halftime shows. I remember he jumped up in the air from a hole in the stage and just stood there in the above pose for like a full minute or two. Crazy or not, MJ is a bad mofo when it comes to performance and he brought it to the Superbowl that year. People wanna hate now in light of his issues, but there's no denying Michael Jackson is one of the best to ever be on stage. He told ya'll he was Bad and Dangerous, them kids shoulda listened. LOL!
