Okay I don't want to become all religious or anything but ummm...
I don't think "PFU" would fly in any spiritual realm as appropriate... I'm a bit surprised by that... As for the song...love the music but the lyrics seem a bit childish... Even the move of setting up the site with an almost identical web address... The whole scenario reads like a playground spat... They put my pictures up...tell them to take my pictures down... they have my song lyrics on their site...tell them to take my song lyrics down... Trust me...we know who wrote the songs and who's in the pictures...but if you wanna keep all of that to yourself then go right ahead...no one is forcing you to do ANYTHING... I SERIOUSLY hope HE focuses on his MUSIC and not tyring to pick fights with adoring fans...BUT if he decides not to release another album because he's concerned about it's use or doesn't do another show because he's concerned about photos getting on the web or he just turns into Howard Hughes and becomes a complete recluse... We'll STILL love his music...well at least I will... Let's use some logic here... If WE (the fans) don't talk about you or give a damn about you...WHO WILL??? NOBODY!!!! Okay I just decided while typing this that... Maybe he doesn't want US to like him...maybe he doesn't want US to come to his shows...maybe he doesn't want US to buy his music... and if that's the case...he can simply let us know IN A STRAIGHT FORWARD MANNER and we will thank you for the memories and MOVE ON!!! End of story!!! whoever's callin' can't be as cute as you...right then and there i knew i was through...

These are some interesting points brought up. I always thought this control of his image has something to do with his stance againt false-idol worship. Yes, he contradicts this through other actions but take Elvis, who dressed and acted the part everywhere he went: he made his fans take down posters in reference to 'the king', saying there was only one King and it wasn't him. That's just one example. I think Prince struggles with the idea. I think he likes being a superstar and getting attention etc, but he wants to do on his own terms... which is of course, impracticable but he'll certainly give it his best shot. Baby, that was much too fast... 1958-2016

Well, a few days ago, I was pretty upset when I posted over on the other thread, but the only reason I reacted so emotionally is because I was hurt.
Now, I do understand his side. I think he should clarify this whole matter to his real fans though, and ease up on the good people like me who NEVER use his name or image in a negative way. It's kind of like in politics when things like the Patriot Act are passed. Deep down, we know that we need something like that to stop some really horrible people from doing horrible things, but safeguards need to be put in there so that good people like us are not swept up in the process.

Things go waaaaay to far about this. Some folks seem to think they're in for some some of quest over a simple thing: Actually Prince is in his own right!
Come one everybody have a couple of chill pills and get funky!! When I read the comments here and there, I think all this has been a mere opportunity so spit our nastiness and frustrations. Really, there are more important thigs in life than this. We sometimes act as if we are spoiled babies and tend to think Prince owes us something special... In my humble opinion he already gave us many special treats. Take ya'll a deep breath, relax and let the vibe flow through... "Goodness will guide us when love is inside of us... The Force will be with you, always"

For what should he apologise? ...not spoiling certain individuals who exhibit behaviour of brats when they cannot do what they want in any manner they want? or, for not allowing his image on a site where he is slandered because of protecting that which is rightfully his? hear hear

If prince was worried about the trappings of wealth he would not have created so purient as a perfume brand, it is easy to hide behind a religion and 'pint a perfect picture' but ow thw whole worl outsid cybespace can see what is going on but do we really know what is going on? is the PFU he has created a diss or a copycat ilve branch jesture afterall he gave the song to the original pfu before creating the npg pfu site maybe just maybe (she says hopefully) he is 'cocking a snook' at his religious advisers and finding his own way now without their constant guidance - afterall it was he who always told his listeners to not do what they want u to do etc many religious types would not like his raw funk and maybe it is aimed to them not his fams. it is possible hat he s an individual originally was advised to hire websherrif and they were given a blanket order o get the image etc off the web and maybe it is they who have taken this too far and too literally - the only peron who can now tell the truth is prince himself, so there is no use ay of us speculating. as for the song the last bit worries me - about digital music being dead when he pioneered it and him leaving etc could be we are sensitive and maybe he is literally re-enacting being at a gig where the peep dont appreciate him after all most of his past music has been themed as tho hes written a play which is why albums like 3121 feel disjointed walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous

Although this issue shouldnt even BE an issue it made me wonder on a deeper level....It's like he's playing a game with us. Like he played with Warners. It makes me wonder if this is why he's 'lonely' relationship wise. I know btw, that the ceast and decest are not a joke but you can't deny that he found this quite amusing. My impression of this fiasco is Prince in all his HYPERSENSITIVITY can't deal with these fansites. This has less to do about using his image and more about 3 sites that he finds OUT OF HIS CONTROL and yes, even INTIMIDATING.
There is always going to be nonsense on a site with hatred, rumors, lies, etc, that clowns post. People will post things or converse in a manner they would not dare to in the real world. That comes with an open free forum. It's totally understandable if an artist get's upset about some of it. One example, www.vai.com, guitar virtuouso Steve Vai posted a full length statement a few months back after a cruel thread posting on his website stated he canned/fired his world reknown bassist Billy Sheehan. Steve was upset and clarified the situation. That being said, Prince VISITS these sites and I'm sure he's posted. Many would claim nobody at his level would deal this stuff. Ha ha. Celebrities have been discovered in chat rooms, dating sites and more. The internet gives them a chance to enjoy ANONYMITY with people and not the tiresome real world experience of the circus animal. Years ago there was a woman working in the bowels of the net service AOL in Arizona who had access to celebrity accounts on AOL (celebrities have enjoyed gift packages of AOL service, like the ritzy goody bags they get at award shows). She conversed with many and lots more playing the innocent chatter. I'd say roughly 70% of the time Prince.org and Housequake.com display threads with integrity-- talking, discussing, analyzing the Prince realm. It's a testament to his GENUIS. I prefer Prince.org for it's animation, layout, etc. On top of that both sites have moderators. But apparantely CRITICAL ANAYLSIS of Prince's LAST ALBUM or his recent BUSINESS PRACTICES I believe have proven too much for him. If one believes CREATIVE INSPIRATION comes from GOD and these are indeed products of THE JOYFUL MASTER, then why the submission to HUMAN LAW?
