I could never take the place of your man

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I just love this song! It's amazing b/c they are such sad lyrics yet it's really poppy and upbeat and it works really well.

Every version I've heard is absolutely amazing. I love it on the album and the SOTT horn version and I even liked how Jordan Knight slowed it down and it was great as well.

This song is unique b/c it could be performed so many different ways and still is amazing.

Just by curiousity, but does he still perform this song?

Great song, love the Sign DVD version. Though my fav take is the slowed down verison from the CELEBRATION 2002.

Yeh this song sounds great even now, I love the acoustic version he does on that VH1 show, brilliant the way he interacts with the crowd.

"I could never take the place of your man," is another song that you look back on and wonder why it wasn't a popular single, that the radio kept going.

I L love VE this song! I was about 10 years old when it came out and I remember only mildly liking it back then but I've started listening to it again in the last couple of months and can't seem to get enough of it. I kind of want to sing it in karaoke but haven't found the guts yet.

That is the greatest Prince song... ever! And one of my fave songs altogether. cool
I love the "speed" of the soundwall behind his voice. I love the lyrics and the story they tell.

One of my all-time favorites from Prince. Great segue at the end and return full of fury. Was one of the few songs I figured out how to play on guitar back in the day. lol at least the basic chords - NOT that killa solo. smile
