Sometimes I wonder if it is God whom plays a major role in his deciding to
irradicate all Prince fansites. Maybe he feels it is Satanism to 'worship' him by adorning pages with his photographs and videos. Openly expressing your sexual desires for him or lack there of, can be considered by him a blatant attack on his faith... Against God. Whereas, over the years he has been growing closer and closer to the truth.I feel in some ways, for that reason mostly, he dosent want to add to the growing population of Sin. If this is the case, I do respect him on a spritual level because everyone has the right to their own Peace. Aside from this , I heard the song PFUnk. I thought it was playful at best. It instantly reminded me of the time Warners had published an article in the newspaper about his name change to a symbol. He responded back with sarcasm...He would like his "friends" to understand the reason for this internet change. However, there is definitely miscommunication in the mix. Therefore, the fans are confused and outraged because of what they do not know. He seems aware yet fustrated over the anguish of his fans... A revolving door. [Edited 11/9/07 10:19am] i think for prince to ask his fans to put their admiration in proper perspective, maybe he first has to put his own fame and fortune in proper perspective in terms of how he views himself. we get mixed messages about this all the time. he wants to go against the grain and have his privacy respected, yet he carries on a superstar lifestyle and is never seen without an expensive suit and a couple of ladies on his arm. what gives? i'm all for appreciating grey areas, but i'm afraid prince is caught in an either/or situation: either he wants to be seen as a megastar pop legend, or he wants to be seen as a talented soul who just happened to get some success. which is it? once he maps that out for himself, i'm sure the people who appreciate him will follow.

And actually, it hasn't. But I'm still annoyed by him.

in now way am i suggesting that critisism of Prince is wrong, it's just that you're either a fan or not, a supporter or not. the way i see it, Prince.org is also becoming a haven for Prince haters...and I have also been here since before 2000 (in different names). i can understand why Prince also got pissed. the man played 21 shows in London, the man is releasing videos on a weekly basis, the man is releasing almost an album a year, plus extra songs...and just because he won't allow "fans" to use his image, etc at free will - while they diss him and express all forms of hate towards him, he comes out as the villain? NO. for years Prince allowed ppl to post images of himself here and elsewhere, but once HE starts feeling unappreciated (yes, the hate), why should he continue to do it? personally, i don't see why. in the future, true fans could start another site FORBIDDING the hate, and I'm sure Prince would allow years of sharing his image, etc...but until that day - enjoy what we had - because the haters are the ones who caused the problems, greediness, etc. THEY want to tell Prince what to release, how to release, that it's okay for his material to be bootlegged and sold by them. LOL. maximum respect to Prince.org and the other "big 2" for keeping us up to date, etc...but, Prince does not really need this site. believe it or not, there are other fans out there who will continue to support him and he has the know-how and vision to keep new listeners hip to his artistic creations. thx for listening, and please dont take this personally. i have an idea. Why dont we shut down this site and set up one called SLAVE.ORG as we are not using Prince's name, but we can still talk about him (of course do not mention his name). He hasnt got a leg to stand on right if he wanted to pull it down right?? Prince is not against us speaking about him or his music hes just wants to protect his Image/Copyright you all take it too far. As for PFUnk it totally Rocks, Thanks Prince.

Speaking very loosely, In the past his music reflected a battle between good and evil. Now he dosen't want to battle anymore. This we understand. This now reflects in his music. We accepted this. At the height of his fame, being head to toe gorgeous and very expensive was also very expected. Time flew by and this is the lifestyle he is accustomed to and chose to live. But aside from his personal style, the issue at hand could be that he fears being worshipped. Clothes, Jewelery, Cars and Houses come with the territory and so does the idea of having people being star-struck over him because of his status and possibly for what they do not have in relation to their own personal lives. Somewhere in his thought's he's screaming "Don't look at me as a star to be awed at. Rather listen to the music..It's all about the music". In his way, he believes whole heartly that he is slowly but surely going to change these idiolist ideals. Problem is, It can be difficult to reverse what has already been done without creating an unneccesary "battle" if you will. Yet he will continue to pioneer in the face of adversity or 'adversaries' to show people the way...Gods will. I love it! Reminds me of the Lovesexy era...nice
We have been "PFUNKED and "PFUNKTIFIED" I like the "Coco Rock" line (Black Rock?) You can hear a little bit of the TRC sound and a little bit of "Black Sweat" before it gets to the line "Gossip again..ho-hum" The "Pookie..is the limo ready?" line, reminds me of the song "Movie Star" .... and love that "Right On!" line at the end, because it reminds me of the 70s era and James Brown used to say that phrase in some of his songs.. also love the salsa beat near the end. First and for most, I would like to thank Prince for recognizing me as being a fan.
Then I would like to smack the make-up off his face because it must be messing with his mind. Twenty-nine years of being what...a Fan, a Fam member, obsessed, or just like his music? I guess it depends on the person's perspective. You know, if Kate Bush or Tori Amos (two Artists I absolutely adore) pulled a stunt like this, I would blink and say they were being weird. This cease and dis is being performed by Prince. After the initial anger, one question comes to mind: is this a publicity stunt? Is Prince trying to drum up interest for Planet Earth or does his ego need a boost? Someone mentioned God and idolatry. Unfortunately it doesn't jive with Prince's behavior. The man wears make up to hide his imperfections. He dresses in a way to attract attention. Though he's cleaned up his act, he still teases the listener with sexual under tones. What does this man want from his fan base? Respect? Admiration? To stop criticizing his work? Is he attempting to squash all media display of his works so he can leave a Graceland of sorts? Gosh I wish I could understand what this man is thinking. He has survived almost thirty years in the music industry, a very unheard of feat. But what is he to gain by his actions? In his song PFunk he states he love y'all while bluntly belittling. Is he attempting to burn bridges or remind the people who add to his bank account they will never be him? Well, Prince, I'm tired. I'm tired of the half ass records, the broken promises, insufferable tantrums, and the illusion that no matter what you do, we, or I, will always accept you. _________________________________________
