Ive only heard 2 reports of people meeting Prince. Ive heard a couple of bad reports too, about people trying to meet him but him giving them the cold shoulder. Do any of you have any stories to share? I would love to meet him but im worried that hes gonna completely ignore me!! My friend and I tried to shake his hand a few times when he was stood beside us on stage in Vegas but he ignored us. He never even looked us in the eye once. It was kinda disappointing! Not the show...that was amazing, but to be ignored so blatantly wasnt a great feeling.

My friend was selling merchendise at The Q in cleveland,ohio. For the Prince concert in 2004. He was there early setting up and he said he heard this guy with the DEEPEST VOICE over the mic, echoing through the 20,000 seat arena. He looked behind the curtain and saw Prince a few 100 feet away telling the lighting guys what to do.

20 minutes later or so Prince blew past my friend in a golf cart, which he was driving.. the workers clapped and he waved to them and smiled.

Thats as close as I know someone got.

I have a cousin who met Prince @ Glam Slam LA. My cousin was a Raiderette @
the time. P was hosting a B-day bash for Magic Johnson. My cousin was dancing w/
some friends, when a man approached her and asked" Do you know who owns this club?" She replied "Yes, Prince. He then said " My boss wants to meet you"
She was escorted to P's VIP booth. P told her that he had been watching her all
night and wanted to meet her. My cousin told Prince that I was big fan of his
and that i would die if i knew she had met him. P replied" You better no tell him cuz I don't want to be resposible for his death"

They exchanged phone numbers. Prince paged her and talked w/ her on the phone for two weeks. He asked her out on a date. He said he was going to rent out a
movie theatre so they could watch a movie w/ just the two of them.

My cousin was just 20yrs old @ the time. She thought he was kind of creepy.
He kept insisting on going out with her. She never went out with him.

He wanted her to be in a music video. It was the Gold Experince video.
If you have watched it , The girl in the video looks just like my cousin.

Well who knows, If they would have hit it off, he would have been part of my family.

my mom ran into the oz night club in st.paul. They had a breif conversaion and he left. Prince also had a big crush on my moms best friend. He even called her from Paris and asked her to fly down to LA to see him. He asked her a bunch of strange questions. The most coolist thing that he wrote her a 3 page love letter and he signed it. She still has the letter. This was before purple rain came out. He even asked her if she knew anyone that can sing and dance. No joke

At 3121 Prince was watching me dance in the VIP. Eventually he came into the crowd near me, got on a pedestal and held his hand out for me to help me up to dance with him. I was basically pushed out of the way by some woman and she went up instead. He told her that he wasn't reaching for her but for me however she wouldn't get down. He appeared annoyed and got off of the pedestal while she danced, but then a bodyguard told her to get down.

A few songs later he came back into the crowd this time with his bodyguards. He again held out his hand so of course I thought he was coming back for me, but he said no and pointed behind me to my husband. Then he led my husband and I onstage to dance. He was holding my hand on the way to the stage and it was too surreal. All I could think of was how I used to have his posters on my wall as a child and now he's holding my hand.

He invited us back to the concert the next night but we had to decline because we had already planned to leave town the following day and we were also quite exhausted. It was very nice of him to ask though. Prior to the concert my husband was not a Prince fan at all, now I'm sure he'll be a fan for life.

A couple of people have "known people who have known people" who've met him.I never believe any of these watered down stories,tho.

Oh so he can be really nice at times! He came into the audience when I was at 3121 too and he invited some VIPs up to dance with him. He came right up to me and my friends but we werent VIPs so he went past!!

I dont think there is any valid reason why anyone famous should be disrespectful towards their fans. Whats the harm in just saying 'hi' or shaking hands? Ive met Michael Jackson hundreds of times and hes always welcoming and sweet.

Seeing Prince in a small, intimate club type venue is the BEST btw! If u ever get the chance to see him in a place like that go for it because its totally amazing. If u are front row he is literally right in ur face playing his guitar. U can feel the heat from it almost!! LOL I hope he does another club stint like that in the future cos I wanna do it again!!

I danced with him at an aftershow, does that count? Even when I was one of the two girls he hand picked? I didn't even pick my hand up but he made the security grab me to throw me on stage...I have pics but still can't find them...I hid them from myself...Soon though...10 years ago and still counting...

One of my mates was driving to the O2 the other week, blasting the One U Wanna C with his window down, and he had to stop at a roundabout. This limo pulled up alongside him, the window rolled down slightly and who winked at him...? Prince! He just rolled it back up and the limo drove off.

My mate was nearly having a heart attack when I met him.

I cooked for him from 1995-1996 at Paisley Park studios. So yes I met him a few times.....

sometimes I wonder if these Prince stories are true. you want them to be true, but something in the back of ure mind says that it couldn't be.

Around the summer of '98 I danced right next to him at a club in NYC called Life. Don't know if any orgers from NYC know of this club but it was THE club to go to at the time, every time we went there was some celebrity there, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Puff Daddy (his name at the time), etc. So I'm there with my friend, she knew I was a HUGE Prince fan. The VIP area of the club was very small with banquettes on either side and a small dance floor in the middle and it was packed with people all the time. Most of the celebrities had a banquette and would dance around their banquette with their entourage of people. We noticed a huge man that looked like a bodyguard just towering over everyone in the sea of people in the middle of the dance floor. As we were dancing my friend was like "holy shit, look to your right" and I turned my head and Prince was dancing with a group of about 4 or 5 women not more than 2 feet from me. I'm sure you all can understand when I say that it took everything inside of me not to freak out. I just remember thinking how tiny he was. His bodyguard was just standing over him as everyone around him was dancing away. Didn't actually meet him but we made eye contact, that's it, he was swarmed by these women. It was a cool experience. Also saw him up close and personal at 3121 in Vegas.
