Surprisingly I have several...

The Batman Soundtrack...like it, but haven't listened to it in AGES because it was meh.

prince ... first time I was truly revolted on a Prince cd...the Vanessa Bartholomew segues ill

Rave... has some great songs but as a whole meh.

Musicology... same as Rave.

I just hang on for the ride! headbang

I have TRIED to enjoy The Rainbow Children.

I have even bought it while i was having my doubts allready while listening to it in the recordstore.

But, still its an album i cant stommach, the irritatingly slow darth-vader voice, the annoying lyrics and the detachment in the vocal delivery make it unlistenable to me.

The Rainbow Children! Never fails to put me off Prince for a few hours until I recover with a healthy dose of SOTT or Lovesexy...

The Buckethead Sharpton voice drives me BONKERS wall !!!

The only thing that I actually like is the caricature of him on the CD!! That's awesome!

I'll add to my original post again, and give my second nod to Diamonds and Pearls. I keep trying. But it just sucks. Hard.

It was definitely "Emancipation". To me it just wasn't Prince. I liked many of the songs but overall it was just produced too slick and commercial. My interest in him began to disappear from that point on...until "3121".

3121... I think I was given false hope. Judging from the reports of house parties and late night jams, I thought the album was going to be a laidback, organic & funky affair. Late night jams with Frank McComb? J*Davey? Once it hit my ears, I really heard a regression into New Power Soul/Rave territory... a man desperately trying to sound "hip" and commercial. I've tried for a year to enjoy it, but it's just not happening. Te Amo Corazon and Fury are the only gems on this one for me.

The Rainbow Children

I mean, so many 'fams' labeling it 'a masterpiece'. But sorry i still can not get into it.

By the way, that excludes the albums i have not even tried to enjoy: New Power Soul and Rave. I havent listened to those in ages, to be more clear: i never even purchased those.

BATMAN

I don't see why it became one of his biggest records because some of those songs sound thin and underdeveloped. I indeed heard somewhere that Prince recorded this in a big rush and if that's true, then that is why I haven't been able to get into it as much as I want to. It was a huge disappointment that wasn't worth its hype.

1) RAINBOW CHILDREN - I tried and tried and got nowhere...do not enjoy this album

2) NEW POWER SOUL - Again...really gave this one a chance...I did not enjoy this album nor did I enjoy much of this 'era' in Prince history. Aside from great TV performances at the time (Essence Awards, Today Show, Vibe show w/ Sinbad)...I grew tired of his new found faith and Larry Graham.

3) MUSICOLOGY - Like about 1/3 of the album...'A Million Days' is brilliant, 'Call My Name' is sexy...the rest..meh! Great year for concerts though!

4) N.E.W.S. - I cant remember if I even own this..and that would be the only album I do not own...I heard it at a record store and almost cried..not in the good way

5) COME - A dark period for Prince and his fans...certainly for me

The Vault! I was expecting greatness from his "infamous vault" and got total crapola! Yeah, yeah, I know it was just a contractual obligation but he could have named it something else, damn it!

The Rainbow Children! Even in my fammiest Prince mood this one just doesn't cut it!

Come! With the exception of Letitgo...Hated it!

I agree with you on this one (but not the other two). The Vault held such promise for me when I bought it, but I just can't get into it at all and never could. At first, I blamed Warner, but then I heard Prince picked the songs for it. What a waste.

The Black Album with the exception of When 2 R in Love. I've tried and tried cuz so many people said it was a masterpiece. Maybe someone can enlighten me. I know he was going through some difficult times with WB.

Actually, there are more albums that come to my mind. Truth, Rave, 3121, Planet Earth AND Musicology. I listened to News only once and I don´t even bother getting Rainbow children. Not that there wouldn´t be any great songs whatsoever on those albums, but overal, I am not feeling the music on these albums. Now, you might ask, what am I doing here? I just looooove his 90´s stuff and I am still hoping that he´ll release something like that again. I do love his Live stuff though. That Las Vegas DVD rocks. I love the music on it.

There are many songs that I've tried to enjoy but just can't get in to. But as for an album is 3121. I probably played it for about a few weeks after I bought it and after that I just shelved it. I haven't played it since.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

I wanna like Planet Earth, but I'm just not feeling it. It's to bland to me. The only song I really dig from PE is Guitar.
