The bottom line is this...

For many years artist have immulated those whom they listened to and enjoyed growing up.

FutureSex/LoveSounds is a really good album, of course it doesnt have the musical prowess of any Prince album ever released, but artistically this will go down as one of Justin Timberlake's best albums if his longevity even goes past 5-7 albums.

The fact that Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds is compared to Prince's early works is very clear. The album is an R&B/Funk that is fun, artistic, and creative and noone in the business has been able to create albums that even touch the works

In fact FutureSex/LoveSounds is very similar to LoveSexy, which to me is in the top 5 of Prince's best albums and that says something incredible about FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Many artist other than Justin Timberlake resemble and immulate Prince. What about Van Hunt?

In fact when he debuted on Jay Leno, I honestly thought he was Prince for about 5 seconds, then said he was too tall. Van Hunts latest album " On the Jungle Floor" is directly paying homage to Prince.

So what is the big deal about Justin Timberlake? The fact that his album is now double platinum and he is hugely successful?

Don't hate on the kid, for immulating an artist he enjoyed listened to when he was young.

Prince in the studio since 2000 is barely equal to a random Timbaland outtake. Planet Earth has nothing in the same stratosphere as the pop perfection of My Love, Sexyback, FS/LS, What Goes Around, Summer Love, Lovestoned...

Would be interesting if Timbaland gave Prince a whole album, then we might get somewhere. Of course Prince is a superior artist to JT, thats a given but material-wise theres no comparison at all.
