I hated this song when I first heard it, but it is growing on me. It sounds like a song Prince would put on a kids album, but if I think back 2 SOTT...I did love Starfish And Coffee. I just wish he had put some sprinkles o spice of rhythm guitar in here or some weird sounds 2 make this short song a little more interesting and different.
Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

A bit too Pollyanna and sappy for my tastes...sorry.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

One of my favorite tunes on the album.

Albeit, Joshua Kadison could probably pull it off better.

I love this song. It's one of my favorites on the album. I think it's one that will grow on people with time, it's a really great song, perfect album track.

When most people listen to the album, I think they instantly look for the funk and/or the rock tracks and this one fits neither category so it's easy to overlook at first but it's a great song that will grow on people for sure in my opinion.

one of my favorite three tunes on the album. like most of prince's
post 1992 under 3 minute songs, it's fun, off center and very nice
to listen to.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Its indeed very short, lightweight on purpose, but actually a smarter composition then it sounds on first hearing.

Together with the song Resolution, it makes me curious how it would sound if Prince would write and record an entire album with Wendy and Lisa next.

These two songs still sound a bit like sketches, but i think when the two ladies and Prince really take the time to record songs together, it could bring us a nice 'poppy' and 'folky' Prince album.

I really love how the second verse 'kicks in' with the drums and the background vocals.

A bit of a more loose, playfull 'Take me with U'

Youre right.

I am allready thinking about the people yelling and clapping when he performs this song during a piano-medley.

(even the people who say it is crap at this moment biggrin )

Listened to the album over again and decided that this is so far my favourite track...makes me feel all wistful!!cloud9
I like the sweetness of it and it wouldn't look out of place on Around the World in A Day. It will grow on others too.

I've been listening to the album in order over and over, and I NEVER feel like listening to this song. Is it the sequencing? Is it his vocals?

This is my least favorite track so far.

I think you answered your own question. It is between 2 AMAZING tracks.
And not just AMAZING tracks on this album but AMAZING period.
I think this track is kinda boring. It doesn't do much for me at this point.
Maybe it will grow on me.

Another great song...it's like a long lost cousin of Starfish & coffee. Now this is another great example of a perfect pop tune.

I pity those who can't enjoy this song!

Really didn't like this at first but it's grown on me. By co-incidence it has been playing while I've been reading this thread and something just clicked. Not my favourite on the album but not the worst either.
RIP sad

I think it's one of the better songs on the album. It's got a bit of a Joni Mitchell vibe to it (circa Ladies of the Canyon) which I quite like
