i love Princes 'episodes' they are my fave bits of music! basically just fantastic songwriting here, such wondeful oddness makes the chord progressions just wonderful! Akin to other classics such as circle of amore and such smile

This song is similar to "Dinner with Delores" and all that P acoustic pop/rock stuff; the lyrics are pretty naive too, like a nightmarish return to the lyrics of For You and Prince neutral

It reminded me of that song too. Makes me feel young again.

Simple beautiful melody, with great lyrics. What's not to like?

Another skip song. In fact, I think I may hate this song.
It definitely goes on the "I won't be listening to this ever again if I can help it" list of songs along with "Jughead", most of NPS, "Right the Wrong", Pimp/Coma/Circumstance among other things.

Reminds me of the aborted "I'll Do Anything" soundtrack material. Schmaltzy swaying piano led fare.

Ding, ding, ding! I couldn't put my finger on it when I was listening to it, but there it is.

me too. i just wish he'd let go of other people's expecations
of what a prince album should be even more than he has on the
album we got now and just go full on folky, 60's songwriter.

you can just tell from lots of his songs that he totally has
a soft spot for that type of stuff but somehow he always put
up only one or at most 2 of those type songs on an album, in
the middle of some hard funk or rock.

i'm still convinced that some day we will get prince's very
own Joni Mitchell-ish folky singer songwriter album

nod

stuff on ATWIAD, The Truth, ONA and some occasional tracks
came very close but there's not really an album where he
goes that way all out.

Nice and strong melody, with a very well resolution.... this shy song needs some friends.... it seems a little silly at first, but it not will dissapoint you, belive me, It has soul and a powerful, and perhaps melancholic, optimism.

This is a fun little tune. It's short, but it doesn't need more time. It has a nice melody, some good vocal and instrumenta performances and I like it.
