You are a funny mother..... Have you even bothered to hear Symphony or Damn, Vibrator, or Wildcard? If you did you wouldn't be laughing because all three of those albums are incredible. I'm being serious though, have you? If you put aside your preconceived notions and just listen to the music I don't see how you wouldn't at the very least respect the man as a musician. You are a funny mother..... emilio319 I think you're wasteing your time with this 1. The airhead can't even take himself seriously. But (for example) a record like Wildcard truly dwarves the attempts made on 3121 Sanandas' albums are true heavy weights and rarely on the wrong end of any comparison. small circles, big wheels!

Around that time he also did a song with Mick Jagger ("God Gave Me Everything I Want") on Mick Jagger's solo album that is similar in style to the Lenny album and the song is pretty dope. I love the 3121 album. And there is no denying that as a guitarist, pianist, drummer, and bass player Prince can probably play circles around Sananda (and most any artist PERIOD), BUT if you were to compare "Symphony or Damn" or "Vibrator" or "WildCard" AS A WHOLE BODY OF ART to any album Prince has released in the 90's and 2000's, I DEFINITELY think Sananda's albums are WAY better. Sananda is a great songwriter and he really digs deep into his soul for his lyrics. If you check out a lot of his songlyrics, they are INCREDIBLE...REALLY DEEP! I can understand if some people prefer Prince's music and if Sananda is not their cup of tea but there is no denying Sananda is an incredible artist and that his albums are AMAZING and in my book CLASSIC. And they are long albums, he really gives you your money's worth...Symphony or Damn has 16 great songs and WildCard has 19 great songs on one cd. And while "Angels and Vampires" is not everyone's cup of tea, it has over 30 songs on it and there are no gimmicks, just a man singing and playing guitar, piano, bass, and drums and I love that album too. That's a no bullshit album, just straight up old school music.

Some of the best songs are outtakes, like "what should I do?", "Amoeba" and the extremely cool "Mona lisa". BTW. these 3 perfect songs were all for free My favourite songs of a very long moment, he freezes time with his voice!! I'm trippin' on "testify" these days. Really though, Wildcard is easily big enough for two big albums. I haven't got vampires&angels yet. I've been a dylan fan for 2 decades and I was amazed when I found that version of "It's Alright Ma I'm Only Bleeding". The perfect cover. I realise I can praise his music until I loose track of exactly what it was that I wanted to say Well you've probably said it all already yourself anyway, Godbless! small circles, big wheels!

I never had much time for lenny kravitz though.
"Fly away" and "R U gonna' go my way?" are great songs and I wouldn't be suprised if he has more. His guitar is good but a kind of standard commercial good, his voice isn't so great, at all, I find it completely predictable. Prince and Lenny sang his "American Woman" and only while listening to that performance did I realize that the song isn't pointless. That song turned out to be 1 of the best performances on the whole Rave concert dvd. IMO Prince gave it the missing dimension. During the time Lenny was on stage he seemed to be quite self-concious. I also once saw a picture of Sananda and Lenny, and there also Lenny looked very uncomfortable with Sananda who was apparently enjoying the moment. But Lenny does seem to compose well enough. small circles, big wheels!

My favorite 3 Sananda songs??? That's a little difficult but I would have to go with: Holding On To You, What Shall I Do, O Divina, and Dolphin. I know I picked 4 but those are at the top of my long list of favorites.
Regarding Lenny. First of all I would love to see the pic of him and Sananda that you are talking about, I've never seen them in a pic together. I can see why some people aren't into Lenny. I was into him at first and then went through a period where I wasn't into him anymore and then a few years ago got back into him big time. Some of his songs do sound a lot like some old school artist (Led Zep, Kiss, John Lennon, etc.) but at the end of the day I just really like his songs and I really like his voice. Have you heard his "5" album cuz that one is my favorite. It's FULL of hits....also his "Mama Said" album is the bomb and the songs "Again" and "Believe" are 2 of my favorites. Edit: "Believe" http://www.youtube.com/wa...9c3Nwdy0NU "Again" http://www.youtube.com/wa...fUIiKiZqz0 [Edited 7/9/07 13:13pm]

Both impeccably wasted. Be honest though, Sananda has more depth, while lenny has better hair. Princes' Lisa did rude things with Lenny and this resulted in what is now a very sexy woman coming into being. I hope she's old enough 2 b called sexy small circles, big wheels!

there r 3 versions of wildcard...the one that was first on his website, the one that was released in the UK and the version that was a combination of the previous 2 in the US. I at first didn't like TTD but as soon as I saw a special on MTV where he did dance little sister, i was hooked. even tho neither fish nor flesh i wasn't keen 2 at first, but after years of revisting it, it's not that bad. symphony or damn GOOD LORD!! now do u love me like u say neon messiah let her down easy Vibrator had me bouncing off the walls 2 CYFLMA Supermodel sandwhich turn the page wildcard had me scratching my head at 1st but it grew on me with the tracks b willing, saying about u, srr636, dark places etc etc i just got vampires and angels both volumes this week and intended 2 spin this more than i have planet earth. i've read where some have said he's a prince wanna b..well then isn't prince a wanna b james brown? food 4 thought (btw TTD/SM loved james brown as well) man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
