sittin in this cafe waitin for my baby i know this song has been discussed but i missed that one,so. i love, love, love p's rendition of "noon rendezvous" (i have yet to hear sheila e's,but i will). does her's have the "sittin in this cafe waitin for my baby" part on it too. this is the best part of the song. to go on for four or five minutes saying the same thing it sounds so awesome. especially when everyone else comes in p goes off. its all heartbreaking cause i don't think she's coming. really good song about anticipation. p nails this feeling so well on this song. one of my favs. For all time I am with you, you are with me.

No it doesn't. In fact is is nothing like the Prince version except for the melody and most of the lyrics. To me, the Prince version is way better and makes me feel kinda sad. Sometimes I just need to hear that song.

Sometimes I just need to hear that song. I know what you mean. The Prince version is just amazing. I could listen to it over and over. Sheila's version is great, but nothing even close to that amazing Prince one. When Sheila did NR live on the PR tour, though, she sang the "sittin' in the cafe" part. There's a great version of it, and the whole Sheila opening act, from the last show in Miami circulating.

Thanx I heard this version before I heard Prince's and I instantly fell in love with it. I wondered why the album version didn't have it in included or why they didn't release it as a single and do an extended version.

Thsi is among my very favorite Prince songs of all time...amazing how one simple rehearsal can fascinate so many people for so many years...sometimes I listen to his version for hours on repeat. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Sheila's recording of it is on iTunes. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
