Yes! God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is

He sometimes uses the same old recipe in the way he treats the flow (or rythm) in his Cds. I hope I'm gonna be very wrong for Planet earth. I can say I do not like Somewhere here on earth from what i have heard on bootlegs. Nice little ballad heard a millions times already. Now if he gives it a proper treatment with some nice instrumentation (guitar or piano solo), it can be beautiful. The tunes I like the most from prince are those where he takes his time. That's where he is at his best. I don't like it when he sticks to 3'30'' - 4' tracks. [Edited 6/12/07 7:03am]

I'm really hoping that Sirius supports him. They tend to play a lof of his newer stuff and were when "3121" came out. I often hear "Call My Name" and "Musicology" every so often and I've heard "Lolita" around the time it was a single (and of course "Black Sweat").

I really hope we get an advance copy of the new album at the MPLS show on 7/7/7. Or at least have the opportunity to buy it either at the show or online. I wish the NPG club was still around because I ended up with shitty seats for a major Prince fan. I couldn't afford $250 at Macy's and got online right when tix went on sale but still ended up in nosebleed.

After Prince dumped W&L, he went on to to create SOTT and many more genius albums. W&L went on to do the music for the Heroes TV show...they have some talent, but they just dilute Prince's talent when they "colloborate".
And W&L's albums had a couple of good tracks on them...I'm not saying they are untalented, but just marginally talented. And the Parade album was a trainwreck, mostly thanks to them. Yeah, Prince made the final decisions but they influenced him too much. He clearly realized this which is why he got rid of them. And SOTT followed, which was pure Prince, pure genius. I'd rather Prince bring back Miko Weaver than Wendy...Tommy Barbarella instead of Lisa...but they are still part of Prince history and their appearance on the album will be a bit of fun nostalgia, but nothing more.

the fact is, W&L were still in the mix when most of the SOTT album was recorded. in fact, a lot of the songs that ended up on SOTT (and more that were intended for Crystal Ball) were part of the final configuration of Dream Factory before W&L left. I totally feel ya with the Miko comment. (We are probably the only people who feel that way! ) He is my favorite guitarist...too funky on the rhythym guitar. I would be so psyched if Miko was on the album, let alone a Prince tour. (I'd pick Fink over Tommy though. ) However, I disagree that Parade was a "trainwreck", and even though I personally think SOTT is the single most overrated Prince album ever, it's true that W&L had worked on a lot of the SOTT songs w/Prince as "Dream Factory." (Maybe that's why I'm not that crazy about SOTT...although I do like Parade....)

Yeah and some of those songs were great, but I don't think he used them on SOTT. What SOTT songs do you think that W&L had a hand in (besides the live one?)

Yeah and some of those songs were great, but I don't think he used them on SOTT. What SOTT songs do you think that W&L had a hand in (besides the live one?) The point is not so much their specific contributions to the tracks in question, but the fact that he still had their mojo all over him in a creative sense. I don't want to give them credit for things that they didn't do, but it has more to do with their influence and creative spark they gave him. The sound was updated, but he was still obviously in "Revolution mode" when he created those songs. Lovesexy, while great, is a very different sound and a somewhat different songwriting style after they were gone. Well I was just looking at the liner notes for SOTT last night b/c I wondered myself. I'm not the best person to ask--paging Boris or Langebleu But I'd guess Strange Relationship, Starfish & Coffee, Play in the Sunshine, Slow Love, and maybe Dorothy Parker and Forever in My Life. It might be hard to pin down though--if they were all feeding off each other I don't know if one can definitively say, "Oh Wendy came up with this riff" or "Lisa suggested this key." (I imagine it's more like Picasso & Braque with Cubism.)
