Best Prince Song of the 00's so far.

Really good Prince Song's are a rare thing this decade and that seems to be the widely held view.

But trying to be positive what do you consider to be his best song so far this decade and could it compete with his great songs of the 1980's

My pick is Dear Mr Man.

unfortunatley it would stand out if it had been released in the 1980's, but still a cool song.

Dear Mr. Man is generic political cliche after cliche. Just a bunch of whining when you get down to it, whether the complaints are valid or not.

My pick for best song of this decade is probably "The Word," even if it's not necessarily the one I enjoy most.

i know people are tired of me going on and on and on about this song
but my fav cut of the decade still remains "Avalanche"

everything about that song is sheer bliss to me. i couldn't believe
it when i first heard it. it took me 4 or 5 listens to let it sink
in that this was one of the most incredible vocal performances i'd
every heard from prince. plus the melody and the words are way cool

I like the melody and performance of this song a lot. If it wasn't for the words, it might go down as a classic for me.

well i can see how the first verse would annoy people. but surely the
second verse couldn't be that much of a problem for people?

I've only got (and know of) Musicology & 3121 tracks.

I'd say that The Word or The Dance is his best of this decade.

And I'd put up A Million Days as a possibility... love that song

I'm with you guys, love them both.
I love When Eye Lay My Hands and My Medallion, too. I still say Chocolate Invasion/Slaughterhouse could have made one amazing album, minus the crap.

Illusion, Coma, Pimp And Circumstance.

It sounds like 80s Prince. A lot.

Song of the Heart, Muse 2 the Pharaoh and ICP&C are my faves of this decade...

I'd probably give the nod to M2TP because it's the most different.
