This was during the purple rain tour. Prince had 6 dates in houston, I was lucky enough to attend 2 of his shows. I had read in the paper that prince was looking for "that special someone in the audience" to come and dance on stage, which I'm sure was just a rumor, but just in case.....I went to North Beach leather to find a purple leather dress...which was way too expensive. I managed to find the perfect cotton blend outfit, with a hot pink jacket, which I thought was sure to catch his attention. At the concert, I saw him at the corner of the stage, so I walked down the steps so he could see me. The second night, right before he sang Purple Rain, somebody ( it may have been me, started the ooooohhs and had the entire stadium singing before he came on) He acknowledged the crowd and the mood was set. Later that night, Me and my buddies went to a local club and were just doing our thing, then I start hearing Prince is in the club. I didn't beleive anybody, but they kept telling me he was there. So I went upstairs, looked around, and who do I see at the bar. Our eyes locked and I thought I would pass out. I had to tell myself it wasn't him, so I wouldn't die right there on the spot. Biggest mistake of my life. I may have been dreaming, but I swear, he looked afraid and in love at the same time. I wanted to kiss him, but who was I?. I was stupid enough to go see purle rain 20 times, but did he know that??? Did he know? So I think, that if he knows you, he would more than likely be amicable. I hope he comes to see the big yellow amazon at least once more. THE B EST BE YOURSELF AS LONG AS YOUR SELF ISNT A DYCK[/r]

this is really surreal and hypothetical, but given the materials..do you think he'd sketch something for a young enthusiastic fan? (since he apparently did the 1999 album coever-illustrations)

whoa. now i'd actually be kinda' terrified to ask such a request after reading some of those old horrific stories O__O though drawings are cool and friendly and not humiliating on several levels, right? [Edited 6/16/07 15:55pm]

I can't speak for anyone else, but my Prince encounter was a very pleasant one. My brother, two friends and I were near the front at the original Vegas shows when we saw Prince nearby. He chatted with us in a friendly way and was very gracious. Then I got onstage to sing "Peach" and after I was done, he got a security guard to give me $40. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

It really depends... His bodyguards are A-holes....
With Prince it's either night or day. And yes, I have first hand experience. A group (radio contest winners) of us were backstage waiting to meet Beyonce on the Ladies First Tour in Minneapolis. P and his bodyguard walked by and folks in our group, "said "Hey Prince', how you doin' man?", and he and his guard looked at us like we called him out of his name.... I think he's happiest when he's working. I had to the privilege of sitting in a rehearsal with about a 100 fans, and he was very friendly. Took questions in between songs and everything... No photos were allowed though. But it was ok. Cool experience.

he walked pass me after a concert in 2000, I said "whats up brotha", he looked up and nodded, when he was leaving there was a camera incident but that was his bodyguards, my friend snapped a pic with a disposable camera, he slid the camera to me and split one went after him and one came to me, I stuck it in my pocket and threw my hands up, the bodyguard went after my friend, Ive since lost the picture, it didnt turn out very well, he looked like Michael Jackson

I'm sure he'd b courteous & respectful, unless their demeanour dictates otherwise.

Only Prince can pose 4 pics and then get them confiscated! He probably got them shits hanging on his wall right now. {say cheese } surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water

I guess it would not only depend on his mood but how you act also, if you act like a freak most likely he'll treat you as if you are one. I would love to just sit and have a real intelligent conversation with him, I would love to hears some of his opinions or stories. peace & love. love God.

That was hilarious. Not your performance -- you were great -- but that he paid you. I forgot about that. (The look on his face when you were performing was priceless. I've never seen Prince smile and laugh like that.) Wait -- he gave you $40? How did the rest of us end up paying for our own breakfast at Denny's? (Kidding... ) We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
