I can't speak for anyone else, but my Prince encounter was a very pleasant one. My brother, two friends and I were near the front at the original Vegas shows when we saw Prince nearby. He chatted with us in a friendly way and was very gracious. Then I got onstage to sing "Peach" and after I was done, he got a security guard to give me $40. thumbs up!

That was hilarious. Not your performance -- you were great -- but that he paid you. I forgot about that. lol (The look on his face when you were performing was priceless. I've never seen Prince smile and laugh like that.)

Wait -- he gave you $40? How did the rest of us end up paying for our own breakfast at Denny's? whofarted

(Kidding... wink )

This is pretty damn funny! Dude cracks me up sometimes, paying a fan $40 for singing is classic! lol

What date was this? It'd be cool to hear...if we're lucky.

I was at Paisley for a Friday night jam when I saw Prince walking through the lobby area. A young girl, maybe 17, runs up to Prince and asks, "Can I just shake your hand? I'm your biggest fan." Prince extends his hand, shakes it, smiles and says to this pint-sized girl, "You don't like very big." He just gives a smirk and continues on his way.

I've even complimented him on an awesome show after a Friday night and he kindly said thank you and continued on.

Nice guy for a superstar.

So I walked to the edge of the stage to get off and I rubbed the hand i got the hi five with on this girls face with a sign of the times jacket on. toal purple freak and she nearly passed out lol. I cant even make that up. I got pics from that show.

does anyone have the link to that "Prince made a disabled person cry" thread?
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

It's funny because in the Sinead O'Connor thread lotsa people who obviously never have met Prince r saying he's a bastard & an asshole & here, people who have briefly met him say he's a kind & gentle person.

That's the difference between gossip & the truth, i guess.

I'm sure Prince is a nice person & most testimonies from both fans & collaborators corroborate this. It must b awful 2 b famous when u see how many people r ready 2 talk shit about u no matter what ur real behavior is...

This was during the purple rain tour.
Prince had 6 dates in houston, I was lucky enough to attend 2 of his shows. I had read in the paper that prince was looking for "that special someone in the audience" to come and dance on stage, which I'm sure was just a rumor, but just in case.....I went to North Beach leather to find a purple leather dress...which was way too expensive. I managed to find the perfect cotton blend outfit, with a hot pink jacket, which I thought was sure to catch his attention.

At the concert, I saw him at the corner of the stage, so I walked down the steps so he could see me. The second night, right before he sang Purple Rain, somebody ( it may have been me, started the ooooohhs and had the entire stadium singing before he came on) He acknowledged the crowd and the mood was set.

Later that night, Me and my buddies went to a local club and were just doing our thing, then I start hearing Prince is in the club. I didn't beleive anybody, but they kept telling me he was there. So I went upstairs, looked around, and who do I see at the bar. Our eyes locked and I thought I would pass out. I had to tell myself it wasn't him, so I wouldn't die right there on the spot. Biggest mistake of my life. I may have been dreaming, but I swear, he looked afraid and in love at the same time. I wanted to kiss him, but who was I?. I was stupid enough to go see purle rain 20 times, but did he know that??? Did he know?

So I think, that if he knows you, he would more than likely be amicable.

I hope he comes to see the big yellow amazon at least once more.

You are living in fantasy land. Listen to what his engineer said.
Jesse johnson, morris day, w & l, sinead, rosie ogaines, carmen electra, michael b, tony m, his bodyguard, his former manager, nona gaye, andre cymone, jill jones, jimmy jam and lewis, paisley park employees, quincy jones, elton john, stevie ray vaughan and more HAVE ALL SAID NEGATIVE THINGS about HOW PRINCE TREATED THEM AND OTHER HUMANS

Most of us have daily encounters, some good and some bad, which pass into obscurity. If Prince frowns at some guy on a bus, that guy's still talking about it ten years later. If you have a minor road accident that causes no damage, it's forgotten about a week later. If Prince were to do that, he'd have 'Prince nearly killed me!!!!' stories going around forever. Doubtless he has good and bad days. There are people who like him and people who don't. He's probably polite to strangers when in a good mood, but has the odd bad mood like anyone else.

It was fun to read about all your experiences meeting him though.

why? are you about to meet him?

I have no personal experiences to share but I've read threads like this b4 and I think his track record is pretty good. I've heard one or 2 stories where he was not interested but...for the most part I think he treats them well...in a freindly to a stranger kind of way.
