I think the half time shows are overrated and a bit of a bore, so this doesnt really interest me.

Who?

I just think that its too big of a arena for any artist including P to really do a kick ass performance, maybe live its transfers differently but on the tube its just bad camera angles and horrid sound.

Interesting.

I am a football fanatic (go Dolphins!)and I am surprised he didn't do the 1992 Superbowl (which was at the Metrodome in MPLS).

I guess the stars were not aligned at the time, but I am interested to see what he does. cool

Hopefully he insists on cameras on stage and GREAT sound flowing through our television speakers. I didn't think the Aerosmith performance was that bad, but most every other one has been. Prince is creative. Hopefully they'll work with him.

GO VIKINGS!! it's been a LOOONG time coming
Talk about synchronicity, if that were to happen with Prince at half-time. giggle

I just heard on ESPN FLorida (1080 AM-Orlando) that Prince is the halftime act.

The announcers (two good ole boys/hyper masculine types) weren't two thrilled with it. Whatever!

Yeah when you got Rolling Stones or Timberlake/Janet...those were snoozefests...aside from said malfunction and even that someone had to nudge me awake.

You're so right. biggrin

If this does happen (remember AI started as a rumor), people across the world will finally see P for what he is: one of the greatest (IMO) performers in music.

I remember one of the Sports Illustrated articles at the time saying why didn't MPLS use their favorite son to showcase the city.

One of the Bills players, Cornelius Griffin, stated he wouldn't be interested in a P performance. Too bad for him (and Buffalo, who lost 37-21 to the Redskins).

No shot for the Eagles. They are the fourth best team in their own division. Get ready for the Cowboys to take their rightful place at the top of the NFC and win it all.

During the pre-game festivities (which start a few hours before the opening kick-off of the Super Bowl), a video for "Willing & Able" was shown, featuring various Super Bowl players lip-synching the lyrics...at the time of the Super Bowl that year, "W&A" was intended to be the next single; of course its single release was cancelled soon after. (Off the top of my head, I believe "Money Don't Matter 2Night" was released instead.)

I know you posted somewhere (Org/Housequake/Music Club) in May on a thread about American Idol and said only the Super Bowl gets bigger numbers than American Idol. You even winked next to it!!! Like this: wink

You brought it up a few times but it was May. Talking bout being in Miami in Feb. Now it makes sense. No one caught it. I swear, if this story is true, I am going to decrypt every message you post!!

I don't know much about the reliability of sportsbybrooks.com (unless that's BROOKS from the SOTT era running it), and of note, the official Super Bowl site still has info about the Stones being the entertainment for the 06 halftime. So, could be true, for sure, but I wouldn't call it official just yet.

The Stones played the superbowl this past feb.....
