I know you posted somewhere (Org/Housequake/Music Club) in May on a thread about American Idol and said only the Super Bowl gets bigger numbers than American Idol. You even winked next to it!!! Like this:

I don't know much about the reliability of sportsbybrooks.com (unless that's BROOKS from the SOTT era running it), and of note, the official Super Bowl site still has info about the Stones being the entertainment for the 06 halftime. So, could be true, for sure, but I wouldn't call it official just yet.

Screw the halftime show, I'd like to see P do "America the Beautiful" and segue into "God Bless America". That would be fantastic. Just him and his piano.

Then, do the halftime show.

And maybe a little play by play commentary.

Sell a few bags of peanuts and popcorn.

Anything but an American Idol type performance.

ESPN's The Dan Patrick Show is even reporting it, reporting from this source that is mentioned on this thread - SportsbyBrooks.com.

There is nothing on NFL.com on it, though. But it will become reality soon -- the halftime entertainment announcement -- sometime in early August methinks. That is when the last time, August 2005, was when the NFL announced that the Rolling Stones were to play Super Bowl XL in Detroit -- although Prince would have been a better choice this past February since it being in Detroit and all -- his second hometown.

But Miami will do nicely -- Glam Slam South Beach!
