No, just be accurate. It's easy to recalculate.

Sorry,
When your're sitting at a computer with a calculator, compiling #'s, yeah, it's easy to be oblivious of the humor. I just want an answer to the question, which I pretty much have. The oldsters aren't on web sites, and P needs to tour to reach those fans. Not hole yourself up in Vegas, or do surprise shows impromptu. The sooner he re-starts a web site (for the AMAZING # of young fans e attracts which I appreciate.....keeps the boy going), and the more accessable he is to the public, is what's going to keep him in business. And whether you like it or not, it's a conglomeration. AND it's WORK. And the public is fickle. So much for the lecture, but since I appear to be the oldest person in the group, I'm entitled. I'll post new data in a couple of days. I have a professional life and something's gotta pay for the plastics!

46 and i wouldn't count pre-teen kids because they're still under our influence.

My kids loved prince and beethoven (sp?) until they hit 13 -now it's PANIC at the Disco, Backstreet Boys, or whatever the latest teen craze is. Now they'll only listen to "7" because they love to sing the chorus.

If you're in your early 30's and can't specify the second digit, I predict a major midlife crisis at 40 and you'll think you have one foot in the grave at 48. But that's OK! Avoid calenders. It really does get better after 40, even 50.

Well I would guess that the majority of fans came out of the Purple Rain era, so maybe mid-30's and up?

It's hard to tell, because Prince's audience is so diverse.

I would say between 25 - 60. I've seen older fans at 2 shows I attended, but no one cared once they were at the show, everybody was just enjoying the music.

If u think prince is da funkiest cat around please!omg If u will let us go back 2 the 60's and seventies. Prince may have kept up the funk for another 25 years but he didn't become the king. Listen 2 George clinton, confunction, and james brown, they all are funk kings. If it wasn't 4 them, Prince wouldn't know what the hell funk was. hmph!

How the hell did Confunkshun get into this sentence? eek

The average age doesn't seem to be changing much. After Rudeboy, the ave. is 31.17. The teenagers are keeping the stats low. Which is OK. It's good news P has young fans. The next generation and all.

ConFunkShun is the name of the group and they do not belong in the class of pioneering funkers like JB, and Clinton.

ConFunkShun was tight but they came later and were as much R&B as funk. ...If we are talking FUNK before 1979 we should mention Sly & the Family Stone, Issac Hayes (Bar-Kays), Bootsy, The Meters, Mandrill, the Ohio Players, and may others.
We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams.

I for one don't consider Isaac Hayes (how damn hard can it be to spell the name right...) a funk act.
EDIT: Ok ok... sorry. It's not you, it's just that no one ever spells his name right around here lol
