I'm 30 and have been a fan since I was 12... It has not been easy so far, I tell you, as I'm the only Prince fan I "personally know", everybody over here thinks he died or something after Purple Rain (that includes radio and tv music programmes), so it has been very difficult to me to get informed about new stuff (and rare stuff ) , in the past , especially my early years.
So proud to be this "feel like alone about this" though obstinate fan I am now anyway

35-55, hell maybe 60. People seem to forget that Prince is pushing 50 himself and when he was filling venues in the early 1980s, Prince was one of the younger artists out there. A lot of his audience was older than he was.

Up to ndigo,#74 reply, the average age is 31.8. Purple Rain came out in 1984, 22 years ago. Assuming the fan base was 18-25 at that time (I narrowed it), I'm not seeing alot of 40-50 year olds out there. Either this group dropped off or they don't interact online with other fans. Most of you were 10 years old when P was at the height of his career.

I'll be 34 in three weeks.

The people I know who are fans over 40, almost never go online and don't know anything about online fan websites.
