In the last several years Las Vegas has become a popular destination for big name artists to perform in for brief to extended periods of time and make millions in the process: Elton John, Celine Dion, Barry Mannilow, Sheena Easton, even Britney Spears is considering performing long term engagements there in the near future. Well this is just the nail in the coffin after reading this list of people. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Is there not some sort of site rules about mentioning Celine Dion on a Prince site... come on there must be... anyone.

I didn't read through all of this thread, so if someone could sum it up for me...
P will be performing throughout the summer in Vegas right? The tickets are or are not $300+ ? Empire Ballroom is the place, are tickets available online anywhere ? I am considering making a trip out there, and this would just top it off.... thanks if I'm stuck in some groovy wet dream, don't pinch me, I'm diggin' the scene.

I wouldnt worry about it too much, since when has Prince ever been able to stick with an idea and see it through to the end? He'll get bored after 3 months and break his contract, do a runner and release a tripple album of choir music in no time...
Anyway, think of us folk who are no where near America... We've been forgotten about for years now. If anyone should be giving up it should be us lot. Who knows, maybe Prince wants a new fan base and he is trying desperately to get rid of us whining, unpleasable fools.

Well this is just the nail in the coffin after reading this list of people. Exactly. The names on that list just prove why Vegas + Prince = The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Is it now safe to call him a sell-out? I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Eye still can't believe that Prince would actually stay all summer in Las Vegas so as 2 simply present coming per4mers, he will get bored quickly, a man of his calibur & nrg simply has 2 always do something. Eye don't think it would last very long bcause he hates 2 stay in 1 place 4 2 long!

The Beatles and Prince go Vegas this year.
And that sez what? By the way, in 1987 I forgot to mention online (because of the green screen) that I thought that quite a bit of the Sign Of The Times album sounds influenced by Frank Zappa. Has any evidence emerged yet to support my theory? Just wondering, like.
