Ok,it's not a real chart,but BS is at nr 8 in a Belgian Rockmag.
It's not that important but it's the first time in a decade they have put a
Prince release in their list!!And they don't just put anyone in there.
This meens he will be in the broadcast of the list on TV
and get some airplay on the national Rock station.

I tried to do a simple search in the iTunes software trying out all the regional stores (btw, I can't buy from iTunes, because they don't accept Icelandic creditcards, at least not yet ) and I found the songs in all the stores EXCEPT the UK store (only B,L & B in iTunes Germany)..... this strikes me as somewhat odd, considering Prince rocked the Brit Awards last week.... surely Universal (and Prince) would want to capitalize on that success by releasing "Black Sweat" and "B,L & B" on iTunes...

And the Hits selling is a clear reason why selling on iTunes is better than selling just at NPGMC - on iTunes, casual fans will see the song on the front page and not only buy it, but buy other prince stuff too. If Prince were smart, he'd capitalize on that and get his whole catalog in iTunes.

NPGMC, on the other hand, won't get those casual fans coming to their site just to buy one song.

You have to wonder, how many people bought Black Sweat today on iTunes who never even heard it before and who didn't know it was coming out. And how many of those kinds of fans also bought the Hits and how many sales did he lose just today by not having his whole catalog on there - and not even full copies of the albums that are up there. It's just unbelievable to me that you still can't even buy the song Purple Rain on iTunes.

Can someone post direct links to the different charts on iTunes? The links there were already provided only take me to the download software page.

All you need to do is open iTunes and look on the right side of the page...the top 10 songs and albums are listed, with links to view the top 100 songs and albums right underneath.

If you want to look at the chart for a specific genre, choose the genre from the drop-down menu on the left side of the store (i.e. R&B/Soul), and the page will reload with genre-specific charts on the right side of the page.

But, it's not just a Prince issue...there are many classic albums in iTunes that are "by song only" with one or two songs from the album missing. I haven't followed things all that closely, but my guess is that this is done to keep the printed CD industry from crapping its pants. People still have a reason to buy a proper disc. ?
