Based on your logic, I could just as easily say that you are "not a Christian" because I disagree with you casting judgment about someone you have never met, but I'm not going to go that route. 2. I don't believe God is one of fear, and the whole "hell, fire and brimstone" speeches don't convert anyone. Quite the contrary- they are a deterrent. It's possible to lead by example instead of resorting to scare tactics and rhetoric that non-Christians don't adhere to in the first place, you know. I have several friends who don't hold Christian beliefs and were against the whole idea of Christianity because of such messages being repeatedly regurgitated. If someone came beating down your door extolling the virtues of some other religion (let's use Shinto as an example), and told you that you were a "Banished One" unless you chose to convert, how do you think that you would react? 3. The fact that you feel that Christianity and having an open mind are mutually exclusive makes me very sad. like I said your no Christian...how can you have an open mind when the very nature of Christianity is to aknowledge Christ as the son of GOD and the worlds savior. Sorry your sob story won't work on me. You either believe it or you don't. There is no open mind and just try picking up your Bible instead of believing what you chose to believe because its right there. Lastly lets step away from Christianity for a moment and lets talk about Islam or Judaism and think about what your saying about having an open mind? Its absurd and peopl of those faiths would say the same things I am saying to you now. You either believe or you don't. Clearly by you having an open mind means you don't believe in anything related to being a Christian. Heck it appears to me that you don't even know what that is For the record, I do believe that Christ is the son of God and the world's savior. But my beliefs aren't the question here. It's funny that you jumped to conclusions about my beliefs based on the way I choose to present them. I obviously am not your kind of Christian, which is fine. That doesn't disqualify me as a Christian, though, now does it? Furthermore, adhering to a specific belief system does not automatically have to go with having a closed mind. There is plenty that I have learned from other cultures and religions that I feel would benefit society as a whole. I don't feel that it has threatened my Christianity at all, but rather enhanced it. The issue that has been raised by many is more about the way spiritual beliefs are presented to others. If you jump down people's throat with your beliefs and have no context of their beliefs or their struggles, it isn't going to work. Point blank. I know from experience- lots of it. My best friend in college was an atheist who was completely turned off by Christianity because of those types of approaches. People have related better to Prince's expressions of belief in the past because the nature of the lyrics was more of a celebration of his beliefs rather than a mandate of them as infallible doctrine. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Militant said: * Lolita KILLER!!! This song hit me straight away, up-tempo synth-dominated melodic pop. This has "HIT" written ALL over it. It reminds me of "Soft & Wet", 2006 style, but with a lot more SEX. yeh thats right, SEX. In true Prince style. He seems to be talking about a bad girl, she's bad, but not bad enough to make him cheat on his partner. The hook goes "Lolita, So sweet-uh, but you won't make a cheater out of me!"....interesting to note a very Time-ish bridge at the end, with Prince shouting "Fellas!, How bad's this girl", and they reply "Bad!", and then it switches to "Lolita! How bad are you girl!" and a female voice says "Bad!" and something else is said (I forget what)....This song oozes fun and party, and has all the makings of a classic Prince hit. [Edited 2/17/06 19:47pm] AS A [/b]JW[b] PRINCE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SINGING ABOUT SEX!!!!! IT SEEMS THAT HE IS SLOWLY GOING BACK TO HIS OLD WAYS...

And then of course i'll buy it!!! [Edited 2/17/06 14:50pm] Would that not spoil the fun - you know, the anticipation, the "let*s go to the record store", the looking at the cover art, the popping it in your CD player, the much-better-than-downloaded sound quality, the reading the lyrics bit. I have done the downloading, a bit here and there bootleg stuff - and when the cd then comes out, I know 50% of the tracks, skip through them. No more, it is much better the way described above.

[Edited 2/20/06 2:12am] doesn't mean we have to be completely oblivious to the world around us! Question since your a Christian what does the above mean exactly? And what does that have to do with Prince continuining to have obvious hit you over the head messages in his music like GOD, I Would Die 4 U, Thunder, NO & Anastesia just to name a few. Address the issue...there is nothing subtle about any of those songs. If you stick to that this can be a very productive discussion. I argue that its been there all along. You argue that it was more subtle previously. I beg to differ and have given examples of songs over and over again to prove my point. Something you have never addressed. Also since your a Christian you might want to check out Psalms 9:1-2 & Psalms 34 and see first hand how open minded GOD wants Christians to be You see part of the problem is that people want to do what they want to do instead of doing and living as Christ has instructed us. Christianity is not something you hear about. Its a life style that includes diet, excercise, moral guidlines to live by...a blue print on how to choose of wives or husbands, raise our families, deal with crisis etc... Its all there. One suggestion maybe you should try reading the Bible a bit more and I think you might get a better understanding of what it means to be a Christian not what you think but what the Bible says. you probably should respond here if you care to at all http://www.prince.org/msg/7/178299 [Edited 2/20/06 6:28am] Dance... Shame about Fury it sounds similar to how Endorphinmachine went on the Gold Experience.
Saw it many times live before the album was released and it was kick ass guitar all the way...I couldnt wait to get the CD when it was released. Sadly what my ears heard wasnt the raucous guitar based rock I had been tretaed to before but instead a cery prominent cowbell with guitar in the background. I remember seeing Fury for teh first time and thinking this is gonna be great...sounds like its had a similar treatment. I wonder why he shys away from that when it comes to recording it

But I kinda meant the fact that Endorphinmachine is a kick ass guitar and drum song....not a percussion instrument song that happens to have guitar in it. What happened to that song illustrated teh dangers of over production and,as Fury seems similar sounding, I was worried from teh description above that it too had been polished to within an inch of its life and didnt still hold teh same,well...fury!!!

My first concert was Prince, The Time and Vanity Six in 1983. Prince had sex on stage to International Lover behind a white sheet in which you could see the outline of everything. This is what he has been missing. I Wanna Be Your Lover, Head, Do Me Baby, International Lover, Beautiful Ones, Girlfriend, just to name a few, are the songs that made Prince so adored by the ladies, and helped the poor guys like me actually have a chance at getting some.
With that said, I hope 3121 goes old school. When the music was sexy, raw, dirty, nasty, make yo' mama tell you to turn that shit off, Prince music. While we may want to keep him out of the black panties, (maybe some of the ladies might like that) this is the type of over the top antics that put him on the map. His music kept him there, but he needs to remember his roots and get off the religious high horse. His music will be much better if he does.

I would like to know, y they insist on realising the single after the album.
Black Sweat and Te Amo Corazon have both had video releases and yet r not available in stores. These 2 singles should b released and b the launching pad 4 the album. other artists do it so well, on the back of a good single to build up the hype the album is released, not vice versa. In the past there has not been many Prince singles that have done well after the album has come out, 1 reason i believe is the fact that there hasn't been many b sides or remixes on the singles , there4 not really worth getting it for the same version u have on the album. Sorry 4 my rambling but this has been on my nerves 4 a few years and after hearing Black Sweat, I believe a couple of good remixes, a b side this would b an awesome release as a single BUT b4 the album is released 2 build some sales momentum 4 the album, even a double single with Te Amo Corazon. Thanks 4 all who made it this far. I get hard if the wind blows your cologne near me
