It's on there... I think he meant that the track wasn't any longer in length (extended). Thanks for the reviews, sounds promising.

Anybody with me in hoping that this will NOT get leaked before the actual release? You know I'd have to get my hands on it, but I DO NOT want to. I'm so weak, though...

"* Beautiful, Loved And Blessed
I went outside for a smoke when this came on. Not a fan of this really. Too much Tamar. The same as the released version." Thats cool. My only question is, why was he allowed to come back in?

In response to those who think the reviews from Militant and myself were a little overzealous, I should point out that I was being positively restrained in parts!I think it also says a lot that we both have different instant favourites on the album. I have no idea who Militant is (orgnote me, dude!)
There have been a lot of references to Musicology too. I didn't care much for Musicology and felt I was losing faith in P's ability to put out another killer album. He's provided the soundtrack to my life and the thought of him slipping away was sadly becoming inevitable...until I heard 3121. Believe the hype guys, this is the shit.

i'm the same. i really don't want it until i can go to the store and get a crystal clear copy of the actual album. but once i know it's out there i'll want to listen to it. there have been 4 tracks out there already from this album so i don't want to hear anything more until i get the cd. but, like you, i'm weeeeeak when it comes to new prince tunes and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

The Mirror
3am: PURPLE ONE STILL REIGNS Kiki King, Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley IT'S been AGES since we danced around the living room in leg-warmers to Prince's Purple Rain, or threw a few shapes at the local disco to Gett Off... So we were very excited about getting an exclusive invite to listen to the mini love-god's new album, 3121, at the Cuckoo Club in London yesterday. Preferring the company of God these days, the reclusive singer has been out of the spotlight since his big comeback album Musicology in 2004. This new album is quite a departure, but fans of the Justin Timberlake/Pharrell Williams school of music will love it. Although Prince's trademark electric guitar solos are dotted around the place, there's perhaps not enough of them to satisfy an ardent fan. The first track to be released as a single, Black Sweat, will prove to be an irresistible floorfiller. And, Te Amo Corazon, which Prince performed during his storming Brits medley on Wednesday, is certain to put him back at the top of the charts - where he belongs. But for a real rock 'n' roll feel, we loved Fury. Probably the only song on the album which is old school, we were instantly transported to flickback hair and blue eyeshadow. Out in the shops on March 27, 3121 is the first album Prince will release under Universal. The first single Black Sweat is out a week later. Don't leave it so long next time, Prince. FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.

Interesting review...it seems the non Prince fans dig it..(Hopefully the Justin and Pharell analogies only means the shit sounds contempoary and not mired in "remember the good ol' days zeal")...But it looks like Prince is trying to win with this one, folks...Peep the line where it's mentioned that "Black Sweat" will be available after the album release....They are working this project to the bone...

Splonky said: You were invited to a listening party for a new album and you skipped out on a song to go smoke a cigarette? How lame is that? I don't care if you already knew this song that is just disrespectful. Well, I personally would have ducked out to smoke a fag during Te Amo Corazon...I like BLaB, in all its cheesy new-age glory. And I'm happy that "The Dance" is NOT the song released on the NPGMC. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I like the song very much, though. I don't mind it being on there. Also, I think it means that he's really showing faith in Tamar because he certainly put that one on both albums to hype her a bit.

He returned to the masses with a great tour; but the Musicology album was middleweight at best...From what I've been reading about 3121 he may have a pretty damn good album to go with a great tour...That's the difference....

wonderful reviews!! I can't wait to hear it!
Just to clarify - is "The Dance" the same song as the NPGMC track, but reworked? Or is it an entirely different song? Also - are any of the songs really long, if you can remember, or are they all pretty much the same? Thanks

Militant said: I wouldn't say that the SNL Fury is representative of the album version either - the synths are FAR more predominant on the studio version than on SNL. Guitars still there, but lower. - Why I am not surprised? hehehe But SNL is hard to beat...that performance was perfect, one of his best ever. Even the Brit 2006 version wasn´t so perfect. Thanks for the reviews, I am excited! [Edited 2/18/06 10:49am]

I think with Musicology, Prince was just interested in dipping his feet into the mainstream before outright jumping in. Granted, I love Musicology, but it wasnt terribly original and it left me thinking that maybe it was made to catch the attention of those who werent fans
With 3121, it seems like the good reception over Musicology gave him the confidence and the stamina to make an even better album. Cant wait till the album comes out
