It's too bad the end credits got cut short the way they did, but Prince looked really cute and very happy there at the end standing next to Steve, and I liked the little exaggerated startled reaction Prince did when they realized the camera was live and on them.

Was he wearing the doorag again at the very end, or a black beret? It looked like a beret to me but I couldn't tell for sure.

Prince, you did a GREAT JOB TONIGHT, MAN!!!! clapping

lol I wish.

I'm already thinking this "fairly-in-the-know" source is either drunk or high or is just plain full o'sheeeet, and that this whole Prince being banned/Lorne being pissed thing was just to see how many people would buy such a story. This person didn't even know the correct name of that first song Prince played tonight! lol

So I apologize to you, dear citizens of the Org, for having run here and posted what's probably nothing more than a big ol pile of :doodoo:. I'm sorry!

s'cool. Any Prince folklore is welcome. mr.green

Thanks. biggrin I still feel foolish.

I'd have gone back and deleted what I'd posted but people had already quoted me in their responses. lol

Thanks. smile

I'm having fun tonight too, and you're right on - tonight was a great night for all Prince fans. And I hope Prince knows what a great night it was for HIM. I think tonight's performances are really going to make a lot of people stand up and take notice of him, and generate a lot of interest in 3121.

We should do more than simply flame people when we don't believe their info (somewhat understandable given the amount of B.S. that gets posted here sometimes). We should also note when people give us advance accurate info, like Tangerine17 who was proven to be right about "Ultimate Prince" (and was beat up pretty bad by some people on this board). In that spirit, I'd like to point out that Jseven, in an earlier thread linked below well before the show aired, stated that the two songs Prince would perform were "Fury" and "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed". So everyone should give Jseven (as well as Tangerine17) their props.

Well, it's just one of the reasons. I still think "Fury" seemed much too well-prepared to have been a spur of the moment thing Prince decided to do. Plus why would Prince do that anyway, switch up a pre-approved song for a non-approved one and upset the powers-that-be at SNL? Also Prince looked so relaxed and happy at the end of the show that it makes rumors of tension and a banning seems less likely, to me anyway.

Of course, maybe the gossip will turn out to be true, or partially true. It all sounded juicy and dramatic when I first heard it but now that I've had more time to think about it, some things just don't fit.

But the thought of Prince being a bad boy and pulling out "Fury" at the last second and getting Lorne P.O.'d actually makes me laugh, especially when the song and performance kicked such major, major butt. lol

The performance was hot. I wished he played Black Sweat as his first song but still Prince tore it up on the guitar with Fury and it reminded me of Jimi Hendrix. The song Fury was okay but I wasn't too excited about it. Then again it took me a third listening before Black Sweat grew on me so I am going to watch the Fury performance again. I am curious how the song going to sound like on the album since most times I preferred hearing the album than the live versions. It seems like I am the minority so far but I enjoyed the second performance better. And I am giving Prince some props for finding a protege who can sing and performed like Tamar. I could tell that she was nervous which is expecting. The moment of the performance was when Prince came up to her and she turn around and they hug. AWWW!! biggrin And also when he announced when his album is going to be in the stores and I will certainly be in a record store for that day.

Prince looked great with that suit and very sexy with that rag on his head. It sort of reminded me of Under the CHerry Moon. He looks fione now than when he was in his 20s and even in his 30s. Prince looked like that he was having some fun and he smile and grin a lot.

Good thing I catched the performance on Housequake and not actually watching it on NBC as it seemed like many people didn't like the skits especially the Prince one. If I had watched it I would agreed too because I am a tough cookie when comes to hearing jokes. wink

I was about to say (and I was about to POST, before it crashed), they sure seemed to have all their shots and angles worked out pretty well for the song that was performed.

Nonetheless, if it IS true, Prince should steal MORE from Elvis Costello. smile

I haven't read this thread yet, but I had to say that Prince's performance of "Fury" was one of the most incredible things I'd ever seen!! And it made me miss Jesse Johnson too.
