i don't really have anything to add other than i hope the treble is less hard on the ears on the official release of "black sweat."
not adding this one to the iPod. even my cats were covering their ears.

not adding this one to the iPod. even my cats were covering their ears. The assumingly Universal or Cumulus person who made this mp3 must have used a bad mp3 encoder. I'm certain the real version won't have that painful high end. WARNING: Don't listen to mp3 of Black Sweat too loud on headphones! [Edited 2/2/06 10:12am]

Every one is talking about the Linn drums.
But I'm also feeling his vocals alot more than usual as well, especially the breakdown.

I heard The Time is supposed to guest on 3121...think it'll be a triple threat tour a'la "1999" (with Tamar pulling duty as "Vanity 6" third slot?) Man, if The Time gets funky again too.... these are the days of wild....

OK, I'm totally confused...
Was BLACK SWEAT officially released digitally 1/31 at midnight, or not? If so, where? (I checked npgmc and iTunes with no luck) If not, will it be released 2/7? npgmc? iTunes? Thanks! ***

there have been ads floating around on the net saying the single drops on 2/7. whether that means online or in stores or both or one or the other, we don't quite know for sure yet.

Ok I heard some kind of live version of black sweat.
With just vocals and acoustic guitar, it was performed live. Have no clue where it was recorded. It sounds like a mix of kiss, and faith by george michael. "I'm working, working up black sweat"

"I'm working, working up black sweat" you probably heard the bootlegged live version from the musicology tour, which was recorded in chicago in june 2004. this file was floating around a few weeks back in anticipation of the 'real thing'...

Funky, sleek, sexy.
"Kiss" meets "Bob George" or something like that. Defintiely feels like a "classic" Prince era track - basic at its core but with a lot of layers that you don't really notice right away. This makes up for TAC, and this is the the Prince I pay to hear. I'm anxious to hear how it comes off live. Diggin it.
