PrintableWell, it seems like he's still got a little bit of that fire in him. Great to hear him sing in such an intensely sexual manner again! Sounds very interesting, too! Not sure about the beak down towards the end, but I still find it immensely enjoyable for now!

I love this track.
Can't wait to see it performed live - and the extended version should be hot. And this is coming from a guy that is looking forward to hearing Prince's guitar more than anything. I think we're heading for very musically diverse album here, and I for one am excited about the whole thing. | |

if you look at the back of the new single photos, sadly, it says its the ALBUM EDIT. so any extended version will have to come live or as a 12" - anyone know if the 12" is extended or just big for Djs to do their thang with.
also mentions BL&B as on a full length (presumably tamars album of the same lenght) AND 3121. | |

Funky in a neptunes kinda way...he's singing in his falsetto...(ala kiss) the track definitely has some kind of commercial appeal...no real sing along chorus but out of all the attempts in the last 6-10 years at getting a radio hit thats current yet princely this could be it...first impression KISS MEETS THE NEPTUNES... Highlights: The kiss vocal attitude...and the attempt by prince to imply some of his former nastiness...at one point he says when i count to 3 your gonna scream like a white lady ...its funky as i said before in a neptunes kinda way...I dont dig the doctor dre-esque synth line that plays throughout the chorus' and intro...reminds me of pussy control or gangsta rap in the mid 90's. Thanks to the angel that hooked me up with this track...I ow you some funk in return... | |

After listening several times to both new tracks, I'm convinced the reason they seem to work are Prince's vocal performances. For years, they've sounded so forced, but now he's sounding fresh and comfortable. Maybe it's really just happiness we're hearing. | |

At first listen I thought it was definitely cool--and more pleasing to me than TAC...but the more I listened to it, but more I dug it. I am thrilled that the FUNK seems to be back and this single makes me WAY more excited for 3121 than Te Amo did.
I hope he'll do this on SNL, and I hope we will get an extended version--maybe on next weeks single?  The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass.
