The Best Prince Song Not Written by Prince

Off of the top of my head, I'd pick a song called "Infatuation" by Laurnea. Has anyone else heard it? It came out in the late 90's and it is more than a little reminiscent of a classic Prince ballad. I remember wondering if Prince had anything to do with it or if he sang background. It's a great song and pretty dead on.

What's your pick?

"Oh Sheila"
"Do Anything"
Most of the Control album
Jesse Johnson's first album
Looking For A New Love
Jump by Van Halen(always thought it was a ripoff of Dirty Mind)
Lady by the commodores, the chords were stolen from Uptown

Too many to list really, Prince was one the most copied artist of his time with his music being stolen by vastly different sources, check Sussudio by Phil Collins. Even Bruce Springsteen was prodded to write "Dancing in The Dark" by his producer who wanted a "prince thing". He was the MAN of his time, like Elvis or the Beatles, he was the standard.

I see I have some catching up to do. I haven't heard a few of the songs listed.

What about "Down Here In Hell" by Van Hunt? That always reminds me of a Prince song but I can't figure out which one. I guess it just has a vibe.

Also, "Zoe's World " by Rachid has a Prince vibe, especially the chant at the end..

I agree on this one; also another that came to my mind is "I Don't Want 2 Be Alone" by Georgio.

I've never heard that Andre Cymone allegedly wrote Controversy. When/Where was this stated?
