I always think of Prince when I hear ABBA's 'Thank You For The Music'

Corny but true.

Especially the lines:

Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

I know it was before his time but it makes me smile. biggrin
Shut up already, damn.

Gosh it pisses me off when these guys don't acknowledge their true inspiration.

They always trot out the usual suspects instead.

Ween has always been reasonably vocal about their love for Prince.

Don't forget Skin Trade!

Well, pretty much the entire Notorious album has that feel. Word was, the boys were heavily inspired after seeing Prince on the Parade tour!

True, and they even used the 'Parade typeface' (Venus Medium Extended) on the
cover as well (no coincidence).

YESSSSS THANK YOU!
I always though that as well!
I really like her, she has this unique quality.....and unwritten is so Prince.....

Her brother Daniel Bedingfield said in Q magazine that he was a big Prince fan. Him and Natasha were allegedly going to do a duet of a Prince song at the Brit awards this year.

AHA! Very interesting.....Well I am sure that would sound awesome. They both have good voices and they sound good together..I heard them sing on another show, don't remember which one though.....looking forward to that one anyways.... biggrin

It was supposed to be for last year at the Brit awards in England but they didn't do a Prince number in the end. I can't remember what they did ??

But when I thought about it what Prince song COULD a brother and sister duet on?

I just couldn't think of one. And I wonder if it was their problem too !!!!
Shut up already, damn.

Okay, I just get the feeling that this bloke from The Darkness went to the "Prince Rogers Nelson" school of song writing....

It's off their second album "One Way Ticket to Hell...and Back"

It even has the Minneapolis funk sound to it I think ???

This isn't to say that I rate them or think that they are in anyway CLOSE to Princes level but I think they have a very simillar vibe.

Just get the feeling that he's listened to Prince along the way.

Not that I've ever heard them say it in interviewds ??

Hhhmmmmm.....!!!!!

Girlfriend - The Darkness

Girl, I know I've got a funny way,
Of showing it.
Yes, I thought our love was here to stay,
And blowing it.
Was never on my agenda,
She meant nothing to me, I meant nothing to her.
And now i realize it's over,
I've just got to tell her!

Girlfriend, I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much so much!

Girl I know I ripped your heart right out,
So why pretend.
That there is even a shadow of doubt,
That it's the end.
Why the hell are we breaking our necks,
Where there's absolutely no affection, hardly any sex.
To simplify something that extremely complex,
You were my girlfriend, now you're my ex!

Girlfriend, I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much so much!

Girlfriend, I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much so much!

Girlfriend, I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much!
I love you, I love you, I love you so much so much!

Kaah: Dom tittar när jag dansar

he's a big prince fan. this song is great!

WOW, i would really like to hear this?
didnt know about KAAH
lemme know more about them if you can

wink

Kaah is not a group, it's a person. He has released 4 solo albums of which "Beats melodier & Baby Kaah" and "Jideblasko International" are the best. The song "Dom tittar när jag dansar" was released on "Beats,...". Anyone who ever liked prince should listen to him. Maybe you could try to download it. He has now started a new band called SLS. their first release can be downloaded for free on www.slsmusic.se. It isn't as good as his solo material though.
I woke up sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
and the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert
