This is hard to believe, but I guess it is a fact considering it is on W&L.com...should be fun. I hope they show an entire performance and not just a few seconds of them jamming.

My rumour machine is flowing: a) Big major company will sign Prince and guarantee substantial marketing backing b) Prince reunites an all-star band, and Wendy surely is part of it ("Prince & the new Revolution")

Sites of interest ...
[w] http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/ And RockOnTv.Com Says that Prince will be on Tavis Smiley on PBS on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 11:30 pm - 12 midnight. But in Detroit, the Tavis Smiley show broadcasts at midnight, so methinks it will air at midnight Feb. 20. Gotta confirm. Props and pounds to LadyCabDriver for the assistance.

OH MY FUCKING GOD!
if this is true, Prince would make up a lot (in some loyal musical way 2 all his former fellow musicians of the revolution and NPG) from not being part of the Sheila E reunion last december.. Now i just can't wait 2 see or hear that!!!

I don't care for wendy, she is the less proficient guitarrista he ever had, i don't like his solo work with lisa, it's too prince-derivative. And i don't like her fucked up backing vocals. I don't miss the revolution besides lisa and maybe MAYBE Drfink

Yeah you're right...the whole Revolution just sucked ass...his music sounds so much warmer and more complete without them.
Excuse me for spewing blood outta my eyeballs as I write this. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I don't think The Revolution were particularly great as a band, but denying they had a positive influence on his music is plain ignorant. Their influence, creativety, unconventional harmonies and melodies is what made them great. The band members nor Prince have been the same eversince. Sure there have been hints of his genius in later albums, but he's at his best when surrounded by other creative musicians.
80's pop didn't have a warm sound to it, so it's too easy to "blame" that on the Revolution. Saying W&L's music is too Prince-derivative funny. IMO it only proves how big their influence on his music was, not the other way around...especially when you go back to those albums they were on and compare them to Prince's albums without them (before or after). His music did change a lot during their time with him, so it's far more likely they contributed a lot to his music, rather then them copying his style after they went their seperate ways. Prince's music is very much influenced by the people he's working with. You can hear it and in a way he also admitted it when a few years ago he said he doesn't listen to a lot of music except for what his band members recommend to him. It's been like that in the past with W&L and it never changed. Unfortunately some fans see this as saying that he's less of an artist for being susceptable to people close to him, when in fact all (great) artists are very much influenced by those factors. How they use certain elements in their art is what matters...how they make it their own instead of simply copying. Working with creative people is what sparks his genius, not working with people like Kirky J.

Maybe not during the Purple Rain tour, but the Parade tour was INCREDIBLE! Saying W&L's music is too Prince-derivative funny.
