Why are some of you makingh it sound like Prince said that he would never play with Wendy again? Prince never said that. he just moved on to other musicians. They have always kept some kind of communcation. Like I said after the family jam, some people might be mad at him for not going , but they are still all cool with each other, they understand, they might not agree but they understand. This is awesome news and I can't wait to see it.Power to the purple one.

How funny are you guys? The song they do is not important; more then likely it would be Sometimes It Snows In April, because of the acoustic guitar, and wendy's background vocal. What is important about this, is the actual interview itself: What will Prince say about his religion? What will Wendy say about her fued with Prince? What will Prince say that will make us all roll our eyes? Will he mention a new album or project? Lot's of stuff could happen. But, as I have said, the interview is gonna be the good part. The song, more than likely will be good.
Looking forward to it. Maybe Prince is finally lightening up. Lil bitch. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I hate to sound even a bit negative but if anyone thinks that wendy and lisa and the revolution were not a big positive part of the sound of P and that the band itself was and still is a great band for one has no idea what they are talking about and has put no intelligent, creative, perceptive thought into that opinion and also didnt go to the bunny jam. This could be summed up by get your head out of your a$$ and see what a good thing this is. WORD! No one owns the music, we just make it our own

I don't really feel excited.
I'm curious to hear and see them together though. I imagine I'd feel more excited if he were to get together with Lenny and duet. I actually felt more excited when I heard about him writing for Nikka. Can someone explain to me please - Roadhouse Garden? What is this about?

So true. There is no way Prince could have created a psychedelic, Beatle-esque masterpiece like "Around the World in a Day" without Wendy and Lisa. There is no way Prince could have created the quirky harmonics and full-brush-stroke sounds on "Parade" without Wendy and Lisa. A lot of what people call a "Prince sound" is actually a "Wendy & Lisa sound." Believe it. Some would even say there is no way he could've written his signature "Purple Rain" without Wendy and Lisa. After all, the movie points out that THEY are the ones who wrote the original chord changes to that song. Maybe that was just movie BS, maybe not. Personally I doubt Prince's ego would have allowed the movie to credit Wendy and Lisa for the song unless it was actually true. Prince is the genius, but Wendy and Lisa are the creative keys to some of his most inspired, inclusive, colorful, visionary work. And anyone who says Wendy and Lisa aren't funky...didn't see them throw down "Mountains" and "AnotherLover" at the Family Jamm. In fact, anyone who hasn't seen Wendy play live guitar in the last five years, hasn't really seen her at all. She's still the solid, always-dependable backup she always was, but now her skills are WAY better than they were 20 years ago. She does the most intricate finger-picking rhythms now, and tasty solos that have a point (vs. Mike-Scott-style "jackoff" solos). I've seen Wendy perform with Neil Finn, Johnny Marr, Sheryl Crow and Doyle Bramhall II in the last few years, and she was incredible. Not in a showy way, but with a textural and tasteful elegance. She is one of the best rhythm guitar players out there, and a thumpin' bass player when she chooses to pick up a bass. Prince would be LUCKY to have her in his band.

I like wendy and lisa for what they have done musically with prince in the past. They are very good musicians, but you have got to be kidding me with this Prince wouldn't have been as good crap. Prince wrote all of those songs, and whoever he chose to tour with him at the time would have made as positive an impact. Prince wouldn't have had it any other way.Wendy was with Prince for 2 and ahalf albums.Purple rain, Parade, and 2 or 3 earlier recorded songs on the sign of the times album. Why is so many people hopping on the wendy band wagon. Please don't get me wrong ,I like her and Lisa a ton, I would even love to see them go on tour again. But as far as Wendy and Lisa being partly responsible for Princes success in the 80's, please give me a break. What have they done in the last 17 years that you would call great. They are very good musicians, but without Prince no one really knows.

I'm just happy that he has shown the maturity to make things up with Wendy. It would have been a hard thing to do for such a proud man. I think Mani has been good for him and he looks happy, this is a reflection of this imho.
I hope somebody tapes this and puts it on the internet for all us o/seas knuckles. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

You asked for a break and here it is.. Wendy was actually on the case during 1999. Listen to a few boots from that era or just check your LP liner notes. Prince is showmanship. Wendy is not and this is why she along with Lisa have taken the backseat since their departure. Truth be told, their countless scores for film and television have touched as many if not more ears than P's work in the last decade. Produced, Arranged, Composed & Performed by Prince and the Revolution was not written on the label out of sympathy.

That's a very black and white way to look at it. I don't think anyone can deny their influence. Sure Prince wrote most of the songs but their vocals and approach to their instruments was so unique. When all 3 bled into one you just can't make it easy as "Prince wrote all the songs". You really look at all this excitement as "jumping on the band wagon" can you? Some of us have never shut-up about Wendy. It just can't be denied that they added more to Prince's music than any of his previous band members. Some of my favorite Prince songs are because of what they brought to the sound; Mountains, Sometimes it Snows and Power Fantastic are all songs they wrote the music for. Just because you don't think what they have done since leaving Prince is "great", I for one think that Eroica and Girl Bros are better than a lot of Prince's output in these last 17 years. To each their own.

Prince himself said that no one could play colors like Wendy and Lisa did...so since it came from the horses' mouth, there really shouldnt be much argument... The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

He also said that he loved Mayte to death do they part. Straight from the horses mouth. I'm just joking, I had to get that one in.To each his own . I really like Wendy and Lisa, I just think that their input is overated. I still love to see them perform and would pay tp see them perform. And that os more than I can say about 95% of the acts out there now. They are good. Good at performing Princes songs. Why is that so bad?

The PBS site really is a disaster. Anyway, for those lving in the NYC/ Long Island/ Northern New Jersey area, the show will only air on WLIW CH.21 at midnight. Neither WNET or WNJN will air Tavis that night.
