I remember that too and same for the Family, but I wonder if Prince could control if they used that name just for touring? He must have been able to, or I wouldn't think the Estate would be able to.

all these years,Morris has been faithfully keeping "The Time" and their music alive.Prince never had a problem with them doing shows billed as "Morris Day and The Time"...but suddenly,the greedy estate has an issue with this?!

even the lawyer knows that this is wrong.

There's no one alive that even could groom a person into a new Morris Day or a new Time, so why do they hang on to the name...?

Exactly.There are so many great things that the Estate could be doing,with Morris Day's participation and assistance.

That name was derived from Flyte Tyme in the first place.

Prince didn't let the reunited Time use their name for the Condensate album.He did,however,allow Morris Day to do shows billed as 'Morris Day and The Time'.

so I don't really see what the issue is.For many,many years,when Prince was alive,Morris and his bandmates went on the road,billing themselves as "Morris Day and The Time".Prince had no problem with this arrangement.Not sure why the estate suddently has an issue with this. s

it's just sad that everything has to be monetized imagine going on the road,doing shows,but not being able to use the actual name that audiences know.

I am not sure what the point is - if it is about money, what do they have to lose by having them make money billed as the band they have always been? It isn't like the ticket sales or new material would take away from any sort of thing from the Estate's pockets on The Time material Prince wrote, right?
