I've just caught up on the last 3 episodes and haven't read all the posts in this thread yet but just wanted to get this out.

Mayte - is a selfish b*tch. She's so insular she can't get past herself to care about anyone else. Using Jessica's experience to further her own pain is just pathetic. Her behaviour was more than out of line it was, as Jessica put it, nuts.

I'm also sick of Drea and Sheree talking about Jessica needing to "filter" what she says about her abortion in front of Mayte because she needs to respect her loss. Talk about being a hypocrit, Mayte is on a reality show blabbing about the death of her/their child week in and week out without any filter or respect for Prince or his family and friends that might feel bereaved by the loss.

Drea I know find disgusting (which is sad, because she was my favourite.) Anyone who uses "you had an abortion" as a way to win a cheap argument, started by Mayte's pettiness to prove a non-existant point, is low-class filth in my book.

Also, why has no one asked Jessica about her feelings and her experience and emotions with that situation or even how her daughter took the news and how they're getting on?

It's easier to just make her the villian of the piece, I guess?!

I'm sure this is all scripted (poorly, if so) but do the producers honestly think women are mostly backing Mayte/Drea/Sheree's behaviour? Are we meant to sympathise with that?

Props for the 1 therapy session that cured Mayte too. That therapist deserves an award for her ability to cure immediately. razz

lol

LOL! So I'm not the only one who picked up on that mess...I was like, "oh please...really?" rolleyes

This is another example of what I meant by poorly scripted or staged or whatever the correct term is. That was some lame-assed bs right there.

The youtube lady is killing me... lol

Mayte and Jessica's issues aside for a minute, the other most traumatic experience I can imagine probably will not even get mentioned...I'm talking about R. Kelly's trial.

That had to be extremely trying for Drea but somehow I don't think she will be discussing it even though it's obviously a huge pink elephant in the room.

Denial and maybe a gag order.... besides, I don't think she wants to talk about her husband being a child molester. Wasn't the girl 15 years old or so? The vids showed urination and oral sex on a intoxicated minor?

They couldn't prove it was R. Kelly since the vid never actually showed a close up of the accused face of the perp?

Scandal!

Yeah... if I was Dre too, I wouldn't let them touch that subject with a 10ft. pole either.

I mean how can you sleep at night knowing you supported that? Now reports are coming out that R.Kelly claims he was molested as a child/tween. hmmm

I recently recall seeing a post from someone who asked when did Mayte and Mani first meet. I meant to respond but I was sidetracked. Anyways, I know the answer to this. Mani was initially hired by Paisley Park as a cashier in the gift shop. Then she moved up to become Mayte's personal assistant. Then we all can kinda guess where it all went wrong from there. Mayte went to get away at the NPG Villa in Spain... and Prince (and Mani) stayed in MPLS and she then became his personal assistant. Remember the "Come On" Video. Someone explained this to me at the last Paisley Park B-Day Celebration.

On the Rave unto 2000 DVD ... right before Prince sings Kiss, he steals a kiss on Manuela's cheek right after he sips on the water Manuela hands him. This while his wife Mayte, dressed in white is off stage to the left sitting down next to her mom.

Prince looks rather smug when he starts to sing that song. I think he was in full throttle courtship with Manuela before he officially broke things off with Mayte.

I felt sorry for Mayte and what happened to her years ago... hope she does well with her future endeavors but the mess she is today is her own fault. She needs therapy if she expects people to not share their pain because it will offend her in some way yet want to be considered a "friend" and have all the perks friends enjoy.

She better not ever expect Jessica to do work on her face/tats... anything! lol

I was thinking that it's for legal reasons. VH1 could probably get sued or something.

But it has got to be tough having your high profile husband stand trial in criminal court, not to mention what he was accused of. I wonder how much she knew and when she found out?

The first I had heard that R was married was during the trial. It was said that there were rooms that were set up like a studio with cameras all iver to get certain angles etc. And his wife was not allowed to go in those areas. I suppose just like prince did not allow his wife to call him to avoid " interrupting creative flow", I bet R Kelly had similar reason to keep Drea from going into these secret rooms.

Hollywood Exes Episode 10 Sneak Peek: I Don’t Want To Feel Pain

Hollywood Exes Sneak Peek

This week on Hollywood Exes, the ladies are all searching for their identity and looking for some purpose. Sheree has a heart to heart with Nicole about her marriage, Drea is still trying to make her dance career soar in L.A., and Mayte andJessica finally meet up to discuss the rift in their friendship. It’s all pretty heavy stuff that you could categorize in Drea’s bundle of “mortgages and stretch marks, baby.” But will they resolve any of their issues? Tune in on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT. to find out.

Does anyone else notice that what these girls mostly do is meetup with another girl (or all of them) at a restaraunt (snooooozzz) and "discus" their problems, the fact that they were married to FAMOUS people- which I now think Drea loves and not loathes the way she is CONSTANTLY mentioning that she was married to R.Kelley and "can you handle that?" I think "can you handle that?" is her way of really saying, "I was married to R.Kelley! I was married to R.Kelley!! smile)) Arent you impressed?!"

Also, I love Nicole- think she's gorgeous and not whiny like the rest but...those clothes! WTF? What was so impressive about her "fashion line" ? I thought you could walk by any Wet Seal and see the exact same stuff. And everyone acted so impressed! ? Those grey shorts looked like they came from Wal-mart- in fact, I've gotten cuter things at Wal-Mart! (I don't shop at Wal-Mart but the Miley Cyrus line a few years back was super cute and I bought some of the tops for doing yoga) anyway........

I agree, those scenes where they have the ladies get together and talk at restaurants are so staged and scripted-like, they dont look or feel genuine at all. And I totally agree with you about Nicole's clothing line, I was very underwhelmed by it. They looked so plain and boring--yes even Walmart close look more exciting then what I saw in Nicole's line confused

From experience, I can tell you there is technical a reason or that: in groups scenes filming an entire cast at once, women generally talk too much, and also have a tendency to try to talk over each other, and it's difficult to find one theme to edit into one concise train of thought that will fit into the rest of the episodes and the producers end up wasting film. So it's important to have 2 or 3 cast members filming alone so they don't get sidetracked, and make the editing process a nigtmare with everyone doing the cahtterbox dance in 15 different directions. Group scenes are generally saved for either intigating conflict or encouraging a big Kumbabya moment by producers.

I still haven't finished watching all of last week's episode, LL; I gotta catch up! biggrin

Not really any interesting media out on the ladies this week (or rather, I've been too lazy to have a look). Here, at least, are a couple of pics from the girls attending the VH1 Do Something Awards. What do we think of the fashion, everybody?

I think all three of them are pretty ladies, their faces looked great, but their fashion choices were terrible

Mayte's dress reminds me of a gladiator or something along those lines, she has no sense of style to me, no wonder why Prince dressed her lol , I have yet to see a picture of her recently where I liked her outfit

Sheree's dress reminds me of a jacquard comforter set or curtains, just not feeling it

Nicole's dress is too tight and too young, didn't like it at all, but again their faces were pretty

Now as much as I love the dude's music, if we're going to start holding Prince up as a beacon of tasteful fashion then I'm about to start looking for the 4 Horsemen mentioned in Revelation, because surely the apocalypse is coming, and the end is nigh faint

I wasn't that wowed by the wardrobe choices either, but it's a shame we can't see Mayte's shoe from the side, I didn't like it from the front view, but from the side her shoe game looks tight.

I usually don't like women cursing but I love her "Got-damn!" 's - To me she knows how to swear and can pull it off without looking trashy- which is hard to do smile

I just love her- everytime I see that show I think, "Now THAT is a real woman!" She doesn't seem to put up with any foolish business and she seems very REAL- despite the fact that she must have a bowling alley in her house- to me she's the best one on that hokey show. smile

But if it's intended to be a comic book aesthetic, why would anyone think it's supposed to look "classy" (meaning conservatively elegant)? It's intentionally tongue in cheek.

I haven't had a chance to try it, but I can prob. get a sample via work. The cream was already written up by some beauty editors 3 years ago (Essence, Allure, etc.).

essence-interior

I think with her using the show as a launchpad, Sheree is simply trying to move out of the small home order category (which is exactly the same way that brands like Mixed Chicks and Carol's Daughter started, making the products at home and stocking them in the garage/storage room) and secure larger, mainstream distribution. I mean, if the product is good, then that's all that matters to me, because the new breed of organic beauty products all have to start somewhere.

Time will tell if she'll be on the map with this line, but she seems to be doing all the right things: she 's got a lot of celebrity testimonials supporting the product, she's aligning herself with influential beauty bloggers. The only complaints I've heard so far are that for the original cream, the batches arene't consistent (sometimes too thick) and that in some products shea butter aroma is too overpowering. Once she gets those kinks out of the way, if she's really smart- then she needs to follow the "Mixed Chicks" business model and secure distribution in Europe, where women of color are completely underserved and basically untapped in the beauty market, and in desperate need of "ash whoopin". Can't really knock her hustle, cause I figure there's nothing wrong with having a vision...and I#m just from that old skool of "if you build it, they will come" kind of thinking. It's a long and arduous process doing things that way, starting small but then building slowly and not giving up however many no's you get, but worth it in the end when you have something of your own that meets a need to someone out there (even if you're catering to a niche market) coffee

When you get to a certain level of fame and power in your celebrity, there's always some kind of cult-like mentality happening in the immediate environment surrounding the person; their love relationships are weird and jacked, their business relationships are weird and jacked; it's really disturbing what passes for normal, but it's just the regular facts of their lives nod

More fashion for your Friday; do we likey, ladies?

Nicole and Her Booty exiting Good Morning America

Nicole Murphy - Nicole Murphy Leaves 'Good Morning America'

Andrea arriving for either GMA or the Wendy Williams (it was all in the samd day). Nice statement necklace.

Andrea Kelly - Andrea Kelly, R. Kelly's ex-wife and one of the stars of the upcoming VH1 reality show "Hollywood Exes," is seen outside the 'Wendy Williams Show'

Mayte's shoe game at The Beverly Hills Hotel WWE Summer Slam VIP party

Mayte Garcia - WWE SummerSlam VIP Kick-Off Party

Jessica wearing an outfit my mama used to rock in the 70's leaving Wendy Williams studio. Would love to see her in a knee length dress instead, her legs are no joke and shouldn't be covered.

Jessica Fisher - Jessica Fisher Visits 'Wendy Williams'

Preacher's Wife Sheree gets a little bit of her dominatrix on (looks like the Whoop Ash alter ego)

I think for the most part the person most consistent for me with dessing well for PR duties and events might be Andrea hmmm

...by the way, is Wendy Williams on summer hiatus? Was never able to track down any tape on the Exes being interviewed on her show. Wondering if it aired immediately (when it was taped a couple months ago)..
