Attention To Whom Ever:
Prince well never be forgotten in life. even through our disagreements, it was Prince who taught me how to be a STAR instead of just a guitar player. So always, much love to Prince & Morris! Those two bad mother fuckers gave me my world wide shot, and I more than delivered what was expected of but I know I've more than paid in full$$$$$
Prince truly was not an influence,... because we influenced by a lot of the same players, mainly SLY STONE! I'm still trying to be SLY STONE!!!!!!!
And if you don't agree or believe lets agree to disagree Peacefully!

Is Jesse sure he wants to be or end up like Sly Stone? Has he seen Sly lately? The difference between being influenced by Prince vs Sly Stone and ending up like one of them, is that Prince went on to become a successful and serious musician/performer, still filling arenas, whereas Sly ended up by the wayside. Now although I have the utmost respect for Sly Stone's contributions to music and all the memories of his music that I listened to and enjoyed, and still do, I think Jesse better think twice on which one he would rather be like or end up like...Prince or Sly?
Wake up Jesse, you can't be that damn clueless.

Some of those posts on his FB page are questionable. Sounds like someone crying out for help. That long one, just before the last one posted here, well, very questionable. |

Okay, here it goes. What do you think? You think he's okay? He did respond to one of his friends on his page to an earlier post on there, that he is the real Jesse Johnson on that FB page.. So apparently it's him posting those comments. Just sounds a bit off, and I don't want to sound like I'm talking bad about him either, because I'm not. Just wonder if he is okay because his posts are coming off like he's a bit confused.
Pleasure and only Pleasure is what I'm thriving for when I'm bringing forth my electric noise to you and your earholes.♥ When I play guitar, I touch the strings so gently that I want the sound to literally drip from my fingers. Sometimes I press the guitar against my body so that I can feel my heartbeat thru it! I love large amplifiers with a lot of paper moving (Speakers) your pants and shirt. I ...t's really an out of body experience.♥
But remember the sound has to be so Warm and Sensually Electric and Spiritual too!♥
That's why Crystals, Turquoise, Onyx, Silver, and the sort adorn my instruments in an attempt to draw in good energy as well as send out good clean uplifting energy to you that feel what i'm trying to say. I say trying to say because no one has control over creativity. So we try to coax her into caressing us for if only just a little while. ♥
I fall asleep playing guitar at least 6 out of 7 nights, not writing just playing. When i don't fall asleep playing I dream of playing something or with some one cool! (I dig that drummer Quest on the Fallon show and the bass player women with the short hair, Michele, I can't pronounce her name but she's fucking amazing to hear get off, i mean she's scary!)
I'm still very intrigued by guitar and people like Hendrix, Al & BB King, James Page, Ed Hazel, Tony Iommi, and Curtis Mayfield, Wes, Spanky, Jubu, Pat Martino, and how they pulled so much from such a limited instrument, as apposed to piano that is.
Please excuse me for boring you about guitar, but at times she's been my only friend (or at least she's had to share me with another woman)

The Original 6ven!
Always wanted to ask, am I the only one who doesn't understand the translated "Original SevenVen" name?
I understand using numbers as a replacement for letters (The Gr8ful Dead etc), but I just don't get what they are trying to accomplish with "7ven". "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself." |

That is sad news, I was all excited about The Time getting back together, and I love the O7 album!
I guess the other O7 guys will regret their newly chosen name, now that there are only six left it would be a bit strange to still use it. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time... |

Noooooo......
This time comes when we have to do things for ourselves and not for anyone else. My feeling is Jesse was not doing the reunion for himself but for fans.
i'll look forward to seeing him in chicago, hopefully.
Well, if that's the case, then that's even worse, isn't it? He would basically be shitting on The Time's fans and not caring what we wanted. |

Theories about Jesse's departure...
***Perhaps Jesse is feeling restless? The band were "planning" a tour for 2012 but I'm not sure if those plans were set in stone.Maybe he didn't wanna sit around, playing the occasional gig while waiting for the guys to decide to do a full tour? Maybe things weren't moving fast enough for Jesse.
***Maybe he's really pissed with Prince about the name change thing and wants to "speak his mind",but the other members are encouraging him not to? Jesse has always been the type of person who speaks his mind.I recall a blistering 1987 interview in Rock N' Soul magazine where he tore Prince a new one...lol...maybe it's hard for him to hold back now?
***Recent shows featured mostly old Time classics, and very little new material.Maybe Jesse is tired of "living in the past" and wants to play the new stuff? Maybe he wants the tour to focus mostly on 'Condensate' but the other guys don't agree?
what do you guys think?
I definitely don't think Prince forcing any name change is responsible for this. I'm almost inclined to think it's #3, and he was wanting to put more new shit (or maybe more of his own stuff) on the show's setlist. It also could be the acts they're planning on touring with are who he feels acts that should be playing behind him/them instead of the other way around.
All I know is he has COMPLETELY let the boys down and his and O7's fans down! This shit ain't cool with me at all. Now they gotta go get another guitarist for the group and get him rehearsed (they might as well bring in Tori Ruffin), and then their name is no longer accurate, as you stated before. They're no longer gonna be all the original members. What now? Original 6ix Plus 1ne?? |

Maybe Jesse Johnson is all of the above or none of them. He seems to be a...self possessed person, if you may, but that doesn't excuse commiting to an album by a group he decided to get re-involved with, making an album with them, and then not sticking around long enough to at least support that album with the publicized planned tour behind it. Shades of Prince past, anyone? "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

When u think about it no one knows for sure what is going down. It may not be Jesse thats causing him to wanna leave, maybe its somebody else or other disputes going on within the band but Jesse is just the one thats just spilling the beans and saying what he feels. Either way its ashame that this has happened so suddenly. Hope they can sort something out like replace him and continue with the band, but its not looking favourable.
I bet Prince is laughing his arse off at all this and TO7 now.

these are very plausable theories. i 4 one am hoping they work this shit out . Jesse is sick on the guitar and tori comes very close, but like some have mentioned, the name of the band is now fucked. One thing that has "bothered" me about this reunion is like it seems Jimmy Jam and Jesse have been the most "vocalist" while Morris is like in the background not saying much. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |

Honestman12, Here's some info from that article link you posted. They basically just posted his FB posts from yesterday, and included the most recent ones after that. Seriously though, what kind of juice is Jesse drinking with these FB rants? Based on his last post, looks like he wants to move on.

something in that bolded part about living on past achievements can seem 2 be a conflict of jesse's vision vs jimmy jam's vision of the band. perhaps jesse did want 2 play more current material man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |
