I got no beef with Casey, he was always nice to me personally. Regarding the situation, I consider Kares as one of the very best contributors in this community, someone who always provide useful insights and usually is among the most civilized orgers. As for Number23, I think he was new or something? Not sure, and I don't specifically recall his past posts, but his review of the SOTT outtakes as forwarded by Christobole proves him to be a valuable contributor as well IMHO. His review is smart and goes way beyond the usual, uninteresting "like/dislike" review.

So now IDK, maybe they got on Casey's nerves, it happens, but from what I could gather of the incident, this was an argument between fellow orgers as we see every day (I'm not proud of it but I got away with much worse than that in my day, and so have many of us, you know who you are ). It apparently wasn't nothing that had anything to do with Casey's status as a mod or with breaking the rules, so I do not understand the ban, and I also do not understand how we're going to keep this community interesting to fellow fans if the most valuable members get banned over things like this.

So again, I don't call for giving Casey a shitstorm, as I said he's always been nice to me and I try to judge people according to the way they treat me, not what occurs between them and others. But I do call for Kares and Number23 to be unbanned ASAP, and for such an incident not to happen again.

Hear, hear. Everyone involved (Casey, Kares, and Number23) have had very valuable contributions over the years to this site, and it's a shame that it has come to this.

I understand that there are frustrations with moderation, but I don't feel the way to go about changing them here is by razing the place to the ground. Mistakes happen and could (and should, IMO) be rectified, but this place has long been a community for all types of Prince fans under the sun, and I hope that can continue.

I'm a moderator of another (much smaller) forum, and I can sympathize with the mods here in that it is a thankless job. That said, there does appear to be some inconsistency in how rules are interpreted/moderated at times. That can happen for various reasons, many of which aren't inherently malicious. My take on it is that I feel the site is quite big for the relatively small number of moderators, at least visibly active ones. Expanding the moderator pool could help maintain consistency and (hopefully) transparency.

Militans long post was insulting and arrogant. Unban Number23 and Kares.

I have just returned as Margot but used to post as PeggyO. One of the reasons I left was the banning

or snipping of the most interesting and dynamic org posters. I actually mourned several of them.

When I look to the archives, I cannot believe the free-flowing, interesting conversations of the past.

Perhaps it is time to consider a change.

I would like to also request that No23 and Kares are re-instated.

Casey Rain really really dissapointed with such an arrogant egotistical post he made, it is a real new low for the org.

I saw the "offending" posts by Kares and Number23, and it was simply a bad call from Casey, especially because Kares and Number23 have very valuable information to share here. Yes, I know, moderators have a hard and thankless job, but it doesn't justify this kind of behavior.

not surprisingly, my posts in this thread have also had a mod remove my ability to edit them.

passive-aggressive nonsense moderating from bias like this is exactly the problem, and yet a mod keeps doing it to every single post i make about the problematic moderation, with no clue of the irony* of their actions.

*(not sure if it fully meets the standard of dramatic irony, but very much a case-in-point moment, regardless)
